Here in the capital of gastronomy and the birthplace of the silk industry, the rich history of Lyons will delight lovers of art and culture. In the heart of the city, the Sofitel Lyon Bellecour hotel is located in a district classed as a UNESCO world heritage site. Between the Saône and Rhône rivers, enjoy a walk along the banks and discover the authentic cuisine of Lyons' renowned Bouchons. Ascend the heights and dine in the 8th-floor restaurant for breathtaking views of the city which produced the Lumière brothers. Chef Christian Lherm offers culinary creations every bit as exquisite as the landscape.

Great location and friendly staff. The room was a bit tired and worn with basic amenities. There is an open shower in the bathroom with just a curtain which was a bit odd. Fantastic restaurant on the 8th floor with an amazing view. Definitely get the breakfast buffet which was amazing.

We are having a wonderful stay at the Sofitel. Room very comfortable. Staff exceptionally friendly and helpful. In particular I would recommend the restaurant. Magnificent views matching the delightful food. The staff have been superb. Abel, Lou, Nicelas and Gregory have gone to great lengths to ensure that two elderly Scots have a vacation to remember. Along with the wonderful kitchen staff they have provided delicious meals and drinks, delivered with clear explanations and humour. A superb experience all round.

Past experience of Sofitel worldwide and the 5 star rating in Lyon flatters to deceive. This is 1970’s concrete nightmare and seemingly not much was updated. We arrived on a Sunday evening expecting at least a nice bar brasserie for a drink or snack Instead a nightmare entrance to an old car park; a dingy corridor and a hardly updated lobby Check in person was excellent but room dingy 1970’s with a stingy mine bar. One free drink as we are both Accor members but nowhere to sit except a cold deserted lobby. Both bar and restaurant closed. The only option being room service we tried to order bread cheese and wine to be told that the hotel had no cheese - really? In a city the size of Lyon where Accor has so many hotels including three 5 star hotels. The suggestion from room service was only pasta - which was a no for us Overall this hotel diminishes the brand and is one to AVOID like the plague

This is an excellent hotel and a firm favourite of ours when visiting Lyon. The hotel is in a great location and is easily accessible. There are also electric chargers at the side of the hotel if you happen to have an electric car. The bar on the 8th floor offer amazing views over the city. The staff are really welcoming and friendly and always offer a really high level of service. I really recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Lyon.

Friendly and helpful reception, the rooms were immaculately clean and we also enjoyed the welcome drink as well. The hotel was quite centrally located and convenient. It was easy to walk to most places as well. Enjoyed the mini bar in the room as well which was complimentary.
