Saccharum Resort and Spa

This beautiful hotel was just Heaven . The fantastic friendly service within every area of the team , cleanliness , amenities , views , serenity , restaurants , the list is endless. The Saccharum Savoy is a modern looking hotel but is steeped in its own history as it started life as a sugar mill /refinery & you see splashes of that in iron work art form throughout , very cleverly executed . Calheta itself is absolutely beautiful , spotlessly clean , calm with a fantastic seafront & amazing restaurants to suit all pockets . The SPE room rates are worth mentioning as this allows you to become a premium hotel guest if you are staying for a special occasion , allows you access to a bit more luxury but just to stay at this hotel in anyway is an amazing experience.

Generally hotel is great but we can't accept bad smell from outside (in our room)- sewers. It was our third stay in this hotel and first time disappointing

SPE package is meh, you are not special guess you are normal guess and some staff members ignore you have SPE and tell you need to pay for X and then at the end, it's not on the bill as you got told at the beginning. SPA staff totally missed the point of "MAKING a SURPRISE" and revealed the surprise when we arrived at the spa to just chill 3 h before massage, manicure pedicure where it was mentioned by email. And when in front of the staff I tried to tell it was surprise she showed no care, like too late. Literally, people in the SPA should be the one showing the most care and where the least. If you pay them well, then change them if you don't pay them well, maybe start doing so. Also, I booked a garden room and arrived on a balcony, it was an "upgrade" I didn't get informed. I would I wish because I took garden for a reason.

We had the pleasure of meeting Bruno the manager during our stay and we want to say a massive thank you to Bruno and his team. The hotel and spa are exceptional - friendly staff, lovely view, very clean, good range of activities and overall a relaxing experience. The spa was outstanding. I have told friends how brilliant this place is snd they are looking at booking too. We will be back. Loved it!

The hotel is very well equipped and has so much space nowhere feels crowded. The staff were all amazing and so friendly, happy to offer support and suggestions on where we could visit during the days and evenings. 100% recommend.
