Luxury in the heart of town.
Wonderful hotel in the center of town. From start to finish the front desk staff was amazing! Welcoming every time we came in and no request was too big or small. I can’t say enough about how good every staff member was behind the front desk. Housekeeping was also perfect. Twice a day they made up the rooms and were always accommodating with requests for extra towels or water. The only part I was disappointed in was the spa. After weeks of travel I was looking forward to my first massage. I booked a day and a time that was wide open for appointments yet they started late, not a big deal but I had booked an 80 minute massage yet only received 50 minutes. They were apologetic but it did not meet expectations from start to early finish.

Lovely autumn break in Madrid
Hotel is in a great location for getting to the sights and restaurants on foot. In particular very near the major art galleries. We had a room at the back which was very quiet. Manuel and Juan on reception gave great recommendations for places to eat

Cozy terrace for drinks
The little outdoor terrace at Hospes Puerta de Alcalá is a charming spot for a casual drink or some tapas. After dinner, I ordered a margarita, expecting a classic Mexican cocktail, but while it wasn’t a true margarita, it still tasted great. The atmosphere is lovely and relaxed, with no crowds, making it an ideal place to enjoy the evening. For a laid-back experience in a nice setting, this terrace is a great option, even if the drinks aren’t exactly as expected.

Exceptional Stay
Exceptional stay we had a Dreamers room and stayed 5 nights. Housekeeping checked on us twice a day and turned down the beds. The room was immaculate and so was the rest of the hotel. I couldn’t get over how clean the stairs were. The staff were excellent and friendly. Location great in the centre of everything.

Great stay at Hospes Puerta de Alcalá. Location is fantastic (smack between the historical part of Madrid, and the best shopping and dinning area of the city. The hotel is in a refurbished classic building, nice touches throughout, and service is warm, prompt and attentive. Very nice breakfast, and a large comfortable room. Will be back.
