We have always had excellent experiences staying at the Intercontinental Madrid and this time was our best. We used the hotel’s car service for airport transfers and found it to be very professional and exceeded our expectations. We greatly appreciated the wonderful upgrade and the hotel rewarding our loyalty to the Intercontinental. As I have mentioned in previous reviews, we are very satisfied with the Intercontinental’s recognition of Royal Ambassadors Diamond Elite members. The food was terrific and the service at the Club Lounge was very good. We also greatly appreciate the fantastic job the chambermaids did each day and doing our room early in the morning. We are so grateful for the quality of service, how professional the entire staff was and the most enjoyable stay we had. Finally, the gentlemen (portals) who assisted us in getting a taxi everyday to attend our business meetings were so pleasant and helped us significantly. We have no Spanish and they made sure that the drivers knew exactly where we needed to go. We did not encountered any problems, but only a friendly staff who helped us frequently with a kind smile. Much appreciated to all the team members!

Chose IC Madrid for its location and past reviews. Hotel is 5 minutes from Gregorio Marañón Metro station, so makes it easy to access from the airport. Take the 8 and then one stop on the 10. It is a nice walk into the centre of Madrid and the main sights too. Hotel check-in was smooth and friendly, our status was acknowledged, with a UG being offered. The room was large and comfortable with a comfortable king size bed. There was also a large bathroom that has a separate shower and large bath. All toiletries were provided with personal packs for shaving , cleaning your teeth and other amenities. There were robes and slippers provided too. The room and bathroom were spotless and clean. The rooms and hotel are "very traditional" but provide the comfort you get from an old pair of slippers. A little worn around the edges but you can’t take them off, as they are so comfortable. The stay was made special by the staff, both in reception and in the bar, not to mention the guys who greet you every time you come in. We ate and drank in the bar on two of the nights we stayed there, the drinks can’t be faulted and the food snax are tasty. The guys in the bar were good fun and very professional keeping a good eye on you to make sure your visit was an enjoyable one. I would definitely stay at the IC Madrid again as it ticks all the boxes for location, comfort and relaxation.

I arrived to the hotel and found I was selected to be the VIP guest! Laura checked me in on reception and she was lovely and very helpful. She was helpful through my stay when I came to the desk and always has a smile on her face. Excellent stay and lovely room. Thank you Laura!

An absolutely amazing stay. From checking where Laura was so accommodating. As an ambassador we already had an upgrade but the addition of the club package was explained so well as worked out only a few Euros more than just breakfast for the club lounge access with snacks and drinks and the free evening drinks and snacks made it worth the money. The staff were outstanding. The doormen were helpful with the taxis and getting you dropped exactly where you wanted to be. I have stayed at lots of IHG properties and this was one of the best stays I have had in years. The manager must be so proud of his team.

Helpful front of house but were unable to confirm that I had paid in advance. No upgrade offered despite IHG Platinum status. Room was ok but a little small. Housekeeping was good. Restaurant service for breakfast and lunch was definitely mediocre compared to my previous stay at this hotel - perhaps some refresher training on table waiting and handling of food as this didn't match the level of the hotel. Didn't feel the cost was worth it.
