Located in the privileged Habsburg district next to The Royal Palace, The Opera House and The Cathedral, Gran Melia Palacio de los Duques is a luxury urban resort offering 160 spacious rooms and 20 luxurious suites behind a magnificent Elizabethan façade. This beautiful hotel, completely inspired on Velazquez’s master pieces is the former Palace of the Dukes of Ega and Villahermosa. In the artistic and cultural heart of Madrid, a short walk from some of the most important monuments in the city, such as the Royal Palace, the Teatro Real and the Almudena Cathedral, behind its magnificent façade the Palacio de los Duques Gran Meliá combines vintage splendour with a delicate contemporary sensibility. More than just a luxury hotel, the Palacio de los Duques Gran Meliá is a canvas that inspired a most extraordinary way of life.

Wow, outstanding place and staff all the way! Marta, Dennis, Jordan, Dona, Alex, Carlos and some other names, incredible service, especially Marta, she is unbelievable, thank you for your amazing help, great service and always with a beautiful smile, thank you from the bottom of my heart, my family is the most precious thing and you have been great with all of us, thank you again!!! I don’t give this hotel the 5 stars because of Cristina, she is not friendly and her services is nothing compared with the rest of the staff: The building and rooms with the red level is amazing and I highly recommend it. For sure will be back to this place soon!

There's nothing quite like sleeping, eating and drinking in a former palace. The Palacio de los Duques creates the perfect balance between the ornate of a former palace and the modern luxury of a 5-star hotel. It's also incredibly well-located, walking distance to all of Madrid's greatest hits.

Couldn’t fault the hotel for anything from location, cleanliness, facilities, accommodation, food quality and perhaps most important the staff , everyone we accounted where friendly and helpful again fair play to one and all. Yes it’s not the cheapest but in this instance you definitely get what you pay for.

Very nice hotel on a quiet street in Madrid in a very good location. The rooms are very comfortable with modern amenities and comfortable bed. We opted for the Red Level, and as part of that there is a private check in, and food and beverage service during most of the day. There is also a private Red Level patio area, which after an exhaustive walk around Madrid, on the last day of a heavily walking holiday, was a noice quiet respite that allowed us to relax in a beautiful setting for a few hours.

It is undoubtedly the best hotel in Madrid. The location is perfect, the rooms are beautiful but above all we were fascinated by the treatment of the staff. Always so friendly and smiling, they make you feel really special. We will definitely repeat.
