The Principal Madrid Hotel

Second time we've stayed at The Principal Madrid. The location is perfect for getting to most Madrid museums and bustling squares. The room we had was a generous upgrade to Deluxe Grand Deluxe City View. Which I was most appreciative of. The staff we interacted, mostly at the entry, were always most helpful. For mother daughter travels as we are I always feel safe at this hotel. Recommend it for the privacy and the convenience.

Fabulous hotel in a great location. Bed very comfortable and room had amazing views on Gran Via! Staff were all very friendly and helpful. I was even treated to an unexpected but very welcomed, complimentary Birthday full body massage. Turned out to be the best massage I’ve ever had! Would definitely stay there again and recommend to family/friends.

Rooms are very stylish and very clean. Staff is very friendly, they speak great English and even gave me a plug for my non-compatible charger. They were there super fast when I called them. Location is right in the center which is fantastic. All the shops and the restaurant are walking distance.

My husband and I returned from the Principal today after a three night stay. We were greeted by Riki (or Rikko) who was full of knowledge, helpful and altogether a lovely person. Javier was the same in opposite shifts to Riki. Our room was nice, with good quality bedding, bathroom products and very clean. We rang room service quite a few times (iron and board, a European plug etc) and always the requests were dealt with immediately. I love turn down and this was a nightly thing. The cleaning staff and the lady who did turn down always did a good job. Breakfasts were great. The fruit was exceptional, as was the bread, and cold boards, meat etc., if you fancied a cooked breakfast, there was a menu with a good choice. The two Laura’s at breakfast looked after us well, as did all the staff, a credit to the Principal. We had one dinner in Atico which we mainly enjoyed and the service was very attentive. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here when we next visit Madrid.

Right in the centre of the city, this small but perfectly-formed hotel was spotlessly clean with very high standards of housekeeping. Linen was excellent quality and the bed was enormous! Quality bathroom products were provided. The breakfast, served on the sixth floor, was outstanding with an excellent selection of fruits, cheeses and other fresh produce. Staff were courteous, multilingual and well-presented. The in-house restaurant was excellent, but rather hidden away from passing customers as the entrance to the hotel is off a side street and very discrete . Altogether, an experience to be savoured and the Principal and its staff certainly made our six night stay very comfortable and pleasurable. Highly recommended.
