Overall a very attentive resort and we would return. I'd rate it 5 star for service (for which we consistently tipped). I think the facilities were probably 5 star when first built, but I'd say more like a solid 4 now as there is some cosmetic aging that might bother some guests (eg: faded, chipped and stained marble counter tops in rooms). Rooms are very spacious and comfortable with huge bathrooms. Pools were nice with lots of space for everyone. Could use a few patio chairs in pool area for those who prefer to sit vs lounge or who have mobility issues. Found that at times it was a little loud; the sound system could be at a lower volume. Cove was lovely with lots of soft sand and interesting and curious fish. Water slide was very fast and fun. Food was good with enough options for a variety of tastes. The Agave (Mexican) restaurant on the point was exceptional with tasty food that was nicely presented in a beautiful setting. Japanese restaurant was also very good. Did not try the Italian. Bear in mind that the long white bridge you see in pictures is off limits. The land on either side and the bridge are for the golf course and are not part of the resort. There is no direct access to Salagua Beach (south side). Despite what other reviews may indicate, the access has clearly been closed for years and there is a sign warning of crocodiles. It is true. We saw a large crocodile in a "puddle" beside the resort driveway. Similarly, the waterfront just north of the resort can theoretically be accessed through a gate for golfers, but if you exit, security is likely to refuse re-entry and the only option then is to walk up the hill and around to the lobby entrance. If you like long beach walks, the best option is to walk or taxi (or Uber) to Miramar or Salagua beaches. We preferred Miramar.

Found the facilities and grounds well maintained. Check-in was a bit arduous, business like versus welcoming, but interactions with staff beyond that were pleasant. The resort was not that crowded until Friday night when the number of guests increased dramatically. Even then, Saturday had plenty of pool area loungers open except the adult only pool that was busy throughout our stay. Note the hydro pool jets were off during our four day stay. Nightly entertainment was very good. Food options were NOT as advertised. As others noted, you need reservations beyond the buffet and upon arrival, you will find non-buffet options booked for 2-3 days out. NOT disclosed is ONLY ONE non-buffet dining option is available nightly, i.e. they are on a nightly rotation. We did enjoy the Italian alternative. It was excellent. Reservations appeared to be limited to 50 diners that evening. The buffet is not great you can likely find something to your tastes amount the options

This is a beautiful property, very impressive building architecture and lovely landscaped grounds. There are, however, a lot of stairs to navigate. The rooms are large and well appointed. The staff are all friendly and helpful. The food was good but not exceptional. Overall a very pleasant stay. The premium level experience was worth the extra cost.
