Tranquility Bay Beach House Resort

Amazing property!!! Great guest services and our unit 36 was the best placement on the property. I would definitely go again and stay in unit 36. They offer beach volleyball, tiki bar with live music and an upscale restaurant on property. It’s a must go.

Our intake reminded of that commercial with Coach Saban when we were greeted with list of “DO NOT…..” all of which needed to be read and initialized. Overall:Great for families, not so much for couples. Families staying in waterfront units appeared to be having a much better experience. Staff is surly, at best. Closed the restaurant in the mornings so sit down breakfast is not an option. Dining in the room is not easy as there is no table. Single rooms lack a closet, merely hooks on the wall. Room was not very nice: broken toilet lever, bathroom cabinet knob broken, etc. Nothing major but at these prices one expects more. Claims to be a resort and charges a resort fee but then charges extra for everything- kayaks, etc. Sad to say, cannot recommend.

From the check in to check out. Very accommodating and courteous. All team members were fantastic. The beach house was bright and roomy with an upper and lower porch / deck . TJ’s Tiki Bar was just a few quick steps off the porch, with multiple beach games to play while sipping on a beverage . We also enjoyed the location as it made for an easy day trip to Key West, and close to an abundant number of restaurants and water activities. The restaurant on property was very good as well ..

The entire experience was amazing. The property was immaculant and the setting was fabulous. The rooms were clean and the bedding was really nice. The Tiki bar was dead on and the beach was wonderful. First place resort in the keys we will go back soon!

After entering the picturesque lobby everything following was a disappointment. The villas are sparse, uncomfortable & unkept. Furniture is damaged, fabric ripped & dirty. Stair railing, doors & doorknobs are sticky with grime and visibly dirty. The TVs only have cable & no ability to log into Netflix or other streaming services making family movie night at the beach not an option. Our experience with the staff hasn’t been positive. The gentleman at checkin was rude & curt and dinner at the tiki bar took 45 minutes to get chips/salsa & 2 hours to get meals for our family of 5. Our older sons have enjoyed the couple beach games, but the “beach” area is not something we would use as it is muddy. We are going to drive to a better beach today, but wish there were walkable options. We are here as a family & the area of Marathon Key is not what we imagined. It is more of a working key & not a place for relaxation and beauty. We are here for 3 more days & wouldn’t book again. Here’s to hoping the trip improves before we fly home.
