Reviews for Tranquility Bay Beach House Resort

Would only return if price was cut in half.

The lobby of the hotel is lovely so expected the villas to follow suit. The rate we booked on the website averaged out to $1000+ a night and were frustrated to see it was $600 a night when i looked the week before we checked in. The exterior of the property is very pretty however the villa we stayed in was outdated, the TV hardly worked and the bathrooms were so small and outdated. The bedrooms themselves were fine - but the couch and carpets made me nervous. Granted the weather was windy and overcast, the kayaks and jet skis were never an option which was a bummer. The pool was lovely for the kids and the tiki bar was a good option for food and drinks - but a waiter at the pool would have been nice given what we were paying for our stay. There is a coffee machine in the lobby where prices indicated $6 a cup - should be complimentary in my opinion. The Butterfly cafe is the nicest part of the resort and the food and service was excellent. The beach is pretty and plenty of games for the kids to play. All in all i would not come back unless the price was cut in half.

Most beautiful resort!

From the facilities, to the staff, to the grounds, there are not enough superlatives to explain how wonderful this resort is. The 2 story villas are perfect for families, the onsite restaurant and dining is great, and the views are second to none.

Breathtaking Views from 3-BEDROOM BEACHFRONT VILLA

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 6 days ago

The Florida Keys were our last destination on our family road trip vacation from Canada to Florida. Tranquility Bay was the perfect resort to relax and enjoy the surrounding keys. The location was convenient and the views from our 3-BEDROOM BEACHFRONT VILLA were AMAZING. I had originally booked the 3-BEDROOM WATERFRONT VILLA but we received a FREE upgrade! Thank you! However, initially I was worried about the location of the villa based on the map of the property that our check in agent gave me. I was worried that Villa #77 was an end unit, directly beside a pathway to the beach and that it would lack privacy. But once we saw the villa we were ecstatic! The view was the PERFECT view of beach, palm trees and beautiful blue ocean…and we didn’t see the unsightly tower directly beside the resort…which we would of had a view of if staying in the Waterfront Villas. In my opinion, none of the villas are completely private because they are attached villas….which means that you can see onto your neighbours balcony/deck. We kept our window blinds shut on the side of the villa with the walkway…that also overlooked the entrances to the Waterfront Villas. But we were lucky because we didn’t have Sidelites beside the main entrance door to the villa. We had a Transom which offered privacy. We wouldn’t have been happy if other guests could see directly into our main living area…which a lot of the villas had….just so you know. The resort is stunningly beautiful. The beach is nice with lots of lounge chairs and umbrellas. The ocean swimming area was not the highlight of this resort. None of our family of 6 wanted to go for a swim in the tiny roped off area. Our daughters put their Stand Up Paddle Board into the area in front of the Waterfront Villas and they enjoyed exploring the waterfront. But we did see children and adults swimming and playing in the swimming area - so it wasn’t THAT bad - just not for us. The sargasso/seaweed is stinky at times - depending on how the wind blows. No worries…there are plenty of nice swimming beaches in the Florida Keys. We went out on a boat ride and enjoyed the gorgeous blue water offshore. Heavenly! Our teenage/young adult children played beach volleyball and enjoyed that. However, the ping pong table was unusable and needs to be replaced. A little games room would have been appreciated because there wasn’t anything for our kids to do after sunset. We stayed in our villa and played cards. Our children also took advantage of the free bicycles during the day and took a ride over to Pigeon Key over the Old Seven Mile Bridge. The bicycles are a great amenity! Some of us swam in the adults only pool/Relaxation Pool. It is small but good for a quick swim. The family pool/Lagoon Pool is more tropical and visually appealing but we didn’t have enough time to enjoy it. We also purchased seafood from local fisheries that I prepared in our villa…so we didn’t eat any food/drinks on property. Grocery stores are within 5 minutes drive from Tranquility Bay, making it easy to prepare your own meals. Overall we LOVED our 3 night stay. Check in was quick and we got into our villa early and we got a free upgrade and checkout was even quicker…so what more can I say! Thank you for the memories!

Tranquility Bay is a special find in marathon. The rooms are beautiful and so clean. The beach is fabulous for kids and families. It is so quiet and truly tranquil! We will definitely be back. Everyone is so helpful and lovely! We even left some cash in the safe and they actually let us know. That is a gem of a find!!

Yoga on Thursday & Sunday @ 8:00 was perfect! I was going to find a studio and was so happy they were here at the resort! Lynne led a beautiful, peaceful yoga class, with options for newbie’s, beginners and advanced! It was the best way to start my morning! Wish they offered it one more morning. The resort is so peaceful, relaxing and a real retreat! Butterfly Cafe is a must, excellent service and great food! We loved the relaxation pool and having the porch to relax in the evening!
