Hotel Lobby is gorgeous, the rooms are disappointing.

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 8 hours ago

It is a lovely hotel and a street away from the bay, plus 20 - 30 minutes from the airport too. The Lobby is so gorgeous, with the sounds of birds singing. It is central to a lot of shopping, Marina Bay Sands, Clarke Quay, Gardens by the Bay and the Merlion. There are a lot of places to eat and grab a coffee. The pool is large and amazing with lots of sun chairs, double loungers with large umbrellas and cabanas with coverage from the hot sun for hours of swimming or lounging. As for the rooms they are quite basic, bland and boring compared to other 5 star hotels we have stayed in though. The rooms all look the same and look mass produced!! I guess it is expensive because you are paying for a somewhat view of the bay, top of the gardens, Marina Bay Sands, Clarke Quay and the Merlion?? If you are there while it is raining the balcony is useless as there is not cover to keep you dry and it is quite narrow. The bed is soft and inviting, the king pillows and quilt are feather ( not good if you are asthmatic ). The bathroom is quite cramped and disappointing ( it reminds me of your basic motel bathroom ) for 2 people to use. You can't have two people getting ready at once. I found mold around the hand held shower and under the sink, which for the cost of these hotel rooms I found really disappointing. We only booked because it had good reviews. It is I guess ok if you need somewhere to stay for a conference, that's what it reminded me of as a hotel.

Seriously let down by the breakfast experience

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

We have stayed at this hotel many times both in its current guise as the Parkroyal and previously as the Marina Mandarin. We like the location and easy access to the MRT. We had a 2 night stay in January 2025 and didn’t encounter any problems. We had an urban deluxe room. The bathroom was a bit tired and the room lacking in storage space but apart from that we had a great stay. We only ate breakfast on 1 morning as we had a very early start on our 2nd morning. Breakfast restaurant wasn’t too busy and there seemed to be a decent supply of everything. We returned for another 2 night stay in mid-February at the end of our holiday. This time we had a Lifestyle premier room which we preferred as it had a better bathroom and was slightly larger than our previous room. The breakfast in Peppermint however on this visit was a total let down. You had to queue to get a table for breakfast. The wait wasn’t too long but I have never experienced this before. It was chaotic. We were given a table and went to the buffet. The cold offerings (juice, cheese and fruit) were adequate. I ordered the eggs Benedict. The eggs were stone cold as was the hollandaise sauce – I left it as it was inedible and decided on a fried egg instead. This too was cold so I also left it. I decided on a croissant and jam. The jam was empty so I tried to attract the attention of the lady behind the counter but she was too busy on her mobile phone to assist! I complained to a restaurant manager who did offer to get me some hot food but by then I had had enough. On our 2nd morning my husband decided to miss breakfast due to the chaos of the previous day so I went alone. Again, I had to queue to get a table. I decided to have pancakes & berry compote. The compote dish was empty so I asked for it to be refilled. By the time this had been done the pancake container was empty so I had to ask for pancakes. When these arrived people also wanted maple syrup but this too was empty. In the same area was hot oatmeal also empty. There seemed to be no systems in place for replenishing items – I didn’t see anyone checking that dishes were refilled. Would I stay here again? Possibly as I like the location. But there are many other hotels in the immediate vicinity so maybe it is either time for a change or book room only.

Affordable luxury with a friendly atmosphere

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

My wife and I spent seven days in Singapore staying at ParkRoyal Collection. The close proximity to Promenade MRT station meant we were easily able to travel the island and the fantastic friendly concierge staff were always happy to give us directions and advice. We flew to Singapore to celebrate my wife’s 50th birthday and when we returned to our room on the first day there was a beautiful cake. ParkRoyal Collection has a feeling of luxury but doesn’t break the bank and so there is a wide range of people who stay there from honeymooning couples to older couples and young families. The hotel is spotlessly clean and the inside garden smells like a rainforest.. Highly recommended.
