Loved our stay at Riad Kniza

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

Our family’s first time visiting Marrakech and, based on a recommendation, we opted to stay at the Riad Kniza. We’re so happy we did! From the moment of our arrival, to our departure seven nights later, we were made to feel so welcome and looked after. Beautifully restored and decorated, Riad Kniza is a true haven from the hustle and bustle of the medina. Our rooms were lovely, well appointed, and welcoming. The daily servicing of the rooms was very professional. Breakfast was lavish and a great start to every day we spent there. We really enjoyed the food and the atmosphere in the restaurant, so much so that we had dinner there two nights of our trip. The roof top terrace is a delightful place to hang out and, in our case, make the most of the early February sun. Riad Kniza is perfectly located and you can easily walk to Jemaa el-Fnaa and the souks in 15 to 20 minutes and also in a similar time to the trendy Gueliz neighbourhood Riads are designed to come into their own during the summer heat when the courtyards, water features, thick walls, and porticoes provide a welcome cooling oasis. Conversely then can be cold in the winter months. That might be an issue for some visitors if travelling in the winter months. I end this by saying again that the staff at the Riad Kniza are exceptional. The owner, Mr Mohamed and his team are exceptionally friendly, welcoming, and professional. They will happily make reservations for dinner, book tours and transport, and generally make you feel special. Thank you!

Lovely Riad but not suitable for elderly travellers

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

Lovely Riad in traditional style but not suitable for us . Too many stairs , no lift and so cold! Staff lovely . Rooms lovely but bathrooms although large and beautiful are very dangerous due to the marble floors . I had a terrible fall when the bath mat slipped after getting out of the shower . Cut and bruised my elbow , hip .shoulder a neck . Ruined our stay . Food in Riad ok but not much selection for dinner . Breakfast fine but room was freezing! May I suggest , , full length mirror in bathroom . Non slip mats for the shower . Coffee maker in room . Feather pillows ! Also I n website mention that there are a lot of stairs up to the bedroom !

Amazing to come back for our 3rd stay. Beautiful Riad, immaculately decorated and lovely staff who go above and beyond! The full vegetation menu is amazing full of really fresh ingredients. The breakfast is lovely presented and can be served on the beautiful terrace in the sun!

Refresh in quiet calm

We enjoyed the warmest welcome and accommodations. The Riad is tastefully beautiful - with layers of mosaics, plaster work, and intricate wood carvings complementing the water features of the open courtyards and receiving rooms. Staff refreshed our rooms each time we ventured out. Breakfast in our room made for a low stress way to cap our final day in Morocco.

Tranquility in the Medina

We stayed at Riad Kniza for four nights in January 2025. It made for the perfect respite amidst the frenetic energy of the medina. The riad is beautiful throughout. Our room was large and well appointed. We appreciated the nightly turndown service, warm and accommodating staff, and fabulous breakfast every morning. We had dinner in the restaurant one evening and the food was delicious and the service, like always, impeccable. Riad Kniza made for the perfect introduction to Marrakech.

We visited Marrakesh in September and stayed at the Riad Kniza, a recently renovated boutique hotel in the Medina with gorgeous examples of Moroccan architecture. Our two-story suite was furnished with exquisite antiques and beautiful Moroccan rugs. The staff at this family-owned and run establishment was attentive and caring. Our stay was characterized by an attention to detail that made our first visit to Morocco a memorable one and assured a return visit.

The Medina of Marrakesh is possibly the most alive place I have ever been (New York is a quiet garden compared to it). But the Riad Kniza and the great family that regents it is a wonderful oasis of peace, kindness and Moroccan style luxury. Their vocation to service was incredible! Go there, enjoy the red city and relax. I will come back.

Riad Kniza is a truly beautiful place in a fascinating city. The wonderful, personal service is second to none. The best stay we've ever had in Marrakech, and we've been many times. Absolutely first class in every sense.
