My wife & I had a very relaxing stay for our daughter's special day. Wedding day is normally stressful, but our stay made us all at ease. Wonderful breakfast with our daughter and her husband before they set off for their honeymoon. Lovely experience.

The hotel is central to several restaurants, accessible to several tram and train lines, and walking distance to trendy neighborhoods such as Fitzroy. The staff were delightful and helpful to all my requests. The fitness center was large and had all the amenities I needed. The hotel itself was really old with metal pieces tearing away from the toilet bowl. The lobby consistently had a heavy scent of perfume. Perhaps, a hotel for an older demographic and a different time.

We have stayed at the Hyatt many times over the years and always had a great experience. This time we decided to get a club room and check out the club lounge. The lounge room itself is long and narrow to take advantage of the view, you are on the 31st floor. The evening drinks and canapes were ok. Two hot options with salads, cold meats and cheeses. A small selection of desserts. Self serve everything. It was ok but no wow factor. Breakfast was disappointing, bain marie scrambled eggs, bacon, tomato, baked beans and mushrooms were the hot options. Pod coffee which was just ok, toast, cereal and a small selection of fruit pieces. We both felt this was well below expectations for a hotel of this standard. Had far better breakfasts at the airport holiday inn. We decided to head to Collins Kitchen for breakfast the next day and were asked to pay $25 per head (50% off) for the pleasure of dining there. It is a waaaay better selection with egg and pancake/waffle station and international food choices but I felt it was poor value when you already pay a premium for the club room and the sub standard club lounge. We found the service good, staff are friendly and attentive. We would probably return to this hotel but give the club room a miss.

Excellent service and great experience. Being in the Club is important as you can still run your business and attend meetings as required with internet access. Great service and attentive staff. Just a great experience. Always happy when we stay at the Grand Hyatt.

Had a 4 day break in Melbourne. Unfortunately on this stay we were very underwhelmed. Booked a corner suite on the 20th floor which included Club Access. Firstly the suite is in desperate need of a refurbishment. Our bath was actually so old and used that it was a light yellow in colour (very uninviting to use) we also had an extra toilet which had rust stains on the tap and sink, grouting very old. At this price point we were so disappointed. In addition I have never stayed in a hotel with Club Access that we had to pay to use the main restaurant for breakfast (it was at 50% discount). Unbelievable as we were occupying a suite at around $1,000 per night. Club Lounge is so uninviting to say the least. I did mention to Front desk on our way out one night if they do turn down service for suites, she said yes, ours hadn’t been done for two nights. In fact I did mention to her our other details about the room, obviously nothing was mentioned to any Duty Manager just for guest feedback. So many better choices in Melbourne. Sorry Hyatt you need to up your game!!!
