Stayed for two nights. Valet service excellent. Reception very lovely and helpful. In-room dining extremely fast and very tasty - had the salmon. The room was thoughtfully laid out with a wrap-around couch encircling a table that I hadn't really seen before. Amazing views of the river if you pick the river view room. Close walk to so many key spots - Emporium, many excellent restaurants, Botanic Gardens, etc.

I hope the Hyatt don’t respond with one of those annoying regurgitations of the things that are good about this place that we see so often now like “ we are pleased that you liked…..” etc. I hate that. But this hotel just does not measure up. What is s hotel? To me a good hotel needs to provide a comfy bed and a nice shower. The rest, frankly, is window dressing. So. Yes, the bed was okay. Reception is the normal over sized over ornate thing but it is nice and yes the staff were friendly. But my god the showers are bad. So so bad. There are no thermostatic controls, no mixing of water - just a basic hot and cold tap. The cold water pressure is so low that it’s close to impossible to get a constant temperature - and Lord help you if the person above you or next to you has a shower at the same time. Management will know this. If they are honest and resist the “we are glad you liked our staff” type reply - they will know that the shower plumbing is awful. Sub standard for the price.

nice hotel with great views of the Yarra River was really nice waking up and seeing hot air balloon outside my windows. only issue was the doors from other rooms being opened and closed made a lot of noise when they closed so could get woken by noise

We arrived on a late flight and the entrance area where we were dropped off was closed and dark. We used the intercom but could not understand what was being said. Lucky for us a guest was collecting a late night food delivery (as there is no 24 hour room service) and they let us in the door and advised that reception was upstairs on level 2. Staff were mostly rude, the phone message system did not work and we could hear the couple next door. For 5 stars the waa below what we were expecting and not worth what we paid. We will not be returning.

The Grand Hyatt Melbourne, is superb. The aesthetic is beautiful, the level of service was professional and on point. Craig Hodgson from Concierge was incredibly helpful with local contacts that I required to assist with preparation for an event I was attending. The location is perfect. Not too far away from anything, but far enough away from the hussle and bussle or general city folk. There is nothing amiss here and I would highly recommend The Grand Hyatt Melbourne for business or pleasure.
