Sofitel Melbourne On Collins

Stayed for four nights at the Sofitel On Collins room was very nice large bathroom okay? We had breakfast included which was excellent. We went to the buffet most days. We also had access to the club lounge located on level 35 with great views of Melbourne city Centre MCG and tennis arena in the evening for canapés and drinks which was really nice especially Eleanor who made us very welcome and was very chatty. The food and the drinks were very nice with a great variety. The hotel itself as well located very clean and all staff were excellent

I have stayed many times at the Sofitel Melbourne and this was my second stay as a platinum member. Both this stay and my last stay we received a room in the exact same location. Possibly the worst room in the hotel. Second room in from the corner looking into the Macquarie building. I have never once received an upgrade when I ask and are always told they are fully booked, pretty unlucky I guess. We have stayed at the Sofitel Brisbane and Sofitel Darling harbour this year for the first time so now are able to compare the hotels. Brisbane was quite good but Sydney is outstanding. Amazing champagne check in at the club lounge and beautiful upgrade to a suite. The food quality and variety was also outstanding and 5 star quality. Melbourne afternoon tea only offer a small tray of cakes and 2 slices of French stick each, no other savoury options or fruit. The hot Canapes were quite good Saturday night but Sunday night they were very disappointing. On a positive note the staff in the club lounge were excellent and the drink selection was very good. The pillows also very nice but we both found the bed was hard. Probably won’t be staying here again as there are better hotels around like the two Pullmans.

Incredible hotel. Absolutely loved our stay. I mentioned when booking over the phone that it was our anniversary, we received a beautiful bottle of bubbles and chocolates and a hand written card. The room its self was spacious, clean and luxurious. All of the staff and extra touches were perfect. The views were great- we watched a magnificent sunset. We would absolutely stay here again for another special occasion.

I am sorry i forgot the manager name who upgrade me to Prestige suits. I am diamond member and they never fail once to upgrade me a big suits with bottle of champagne. Who stay in suits has access to Club Sofitel where we can have hightea 3 - 5 pm and 6-8 pm for cocktail time. Very nice view with good food. They are kids friendly and can order kids meal too. Location is perfect. Tram is just infront of the hotel. We had a dinner at No 35 Restaurent. Food are good but staffs are not so friendly.

What a spoil! Just spent our anniversary at the beautiful Sofitel on Collins and all our expectations and more were met. Views right across the city, comfort and luxury in the rooms. The fresh oysters in The Atrium were the best oysters I have ever had. Thank you for the best staycation. We will be back
