W Melbourne with its rebellious Flinders Lane address takes its design cues from the streets of Australia's cultural capital, holding the back-lane entrance keys to what's new/next in the city CBD. Revealing a playground where the early risers to the late-night revellers can turn up the tracks. Extending the laneway culture in, 294 bold hotel rooms and suites peel back the layers and revel in the city's history.

We held our VIP sit down dinner at W Melbourne for the second year in a row. The venue is new and clean and very well presented with state of the art AV. The team at W provide a very slick operation indeed. There are never any surprises just a seamless event experience. Highly recommend.

Loved the room and the bed gave me a delightful nights sleep. I’d like to come back but it is an exclusive property so may not be in my budget.

Be prepared for a very average experience. The hotel (for what it costs) is very underwhelming. We decided to stay at this hotel for our 10 year wedding anniversary, expecting an amazing experience. Right from the check-in (which was a 30 minute wait in itself), we were left very disappointed. After being asked what our stay was for, and advising it was for our anniversary, it was pretty disheartening that not one thing was done to make the occasion special for us. I asked about a possible room upgrade and was told the hotel was fully booked, that’s fair enough, but to not even receive a bottle of wine, something, anything at all, really just set the tone for the experience and proved just how out of touch this hotel is. Secondly if you’ve booked breakfast at Lollol, be prepared for another 20-30 minute wait to even be seated. As the picture shows, the queue to even get into the venue is ridiculous for a hotel that boasts to be a “luxury” hotel. The team were understaffed, unorganized and not personable in anyway. The cocktail bar was also closed on the evening before a public holiday, how does that make sense? Lastly, the room service is quite content to leave dirty plates and half eaten meals from neighbors on the floor for you to discover as well. Did not enjoy this hotel at all and would not recommend staying here. There are far better options for service and quality in Melbournes CBD and at half the price.

To say I was blown away by first impressions was an understatement. When I entered my room I was amazed by the creativity the field the energy and the anticipation of what I would find next during my stay. I experienced many good but also not so impressive standards I found the rooms to be confusing. I couldn’t find things I was looking for, during the night the room is beautiful. The atmosphere is great but during the day there’s not enough light and for women to do make up or Hair. The lighting in the bathroom was dreadful. The room service stage were amazing. So friendly and accommodating. For the cost associated with staying at the W I believe it is far too much for what is delivered. Quality of hotel is left to be desired and lack of personal touches and consistency is something that could be improved. So much potential though.

The W was fabulous. Received a wonderful upgrade upon check in. Hotel was in a great location and the staff were very friendly. Will be our go-to when we visit Melbourne again.
