We had a three night stay in a King City View room. The good The room (815) was a decent size, quiet and had a very good bed and pillows. The bathroom was large & clean and had plenty of bench space for toilet bags etc & ok water pressure in the big, walk-in shower. Staff were pretty friendly and helpful and arranged housekeeping to service our room when we were out for dinner because we'd been napping when they came in the afternoon. The not great There wasn't really a view and the room was quite dark. Because of the layout there was only 1 bedside table which is a pain for the person who goes without. There are no USB charging ports near the bed (the one in the back of the alarm clock didn't work). Have to get out of bed to turn the lights off as no switches at the bed. Coffee in the pods was dreadful. The location The hotel is across the road from Flinders Station, on the free tramline, walking distance to Degraves St, the restaurants and bars on the south side of the river and the CBD/shopping area. But it is a bit of a scungey part of town, surrounding streets are grimy, lots of fast food outlets and there are some interesting sights late at night. Bear this in mind if it might bother you. Conclusion Comfortable hotel in convenient - but not salubrious- part of town. Missing a few modern comfort features that would give it a higher rating.

A stylish hotel perfectly located in the heart of Melbourne. The free tram stop is just a block away, and the vibrant restaurant and bar district along the Yarra River is less than a 5-minute walk. In addition to the stunning lobby, this hotel stands out for its exceptional staff. I truly felt that the guest was the top priority in everything they did. Special thanks to Nos, who provided outstanding service during breakfast—her attentiveness really made my stay memorable.

Love the quirky renovation industrial chic/boutique vibe to this hotel lobby. The staff are exceptional and anticipate your every need. We had breakfast here twice and dinner as it was pouring rain in Melbourne and we decided to stay in. Great choice, very elevated and creative meals. We had a Skyview King Suite and the views of Melbourne were stunning and the room was quite large and well appointed. The bathroom was very roomy as well. Coffee and teamaking facilities in the room as well as a mini fridge and bathrobes provided as well. Very centrally located about 20 minutes from Melbourne International Airport and the cruise terminal as well. Great stay!

I didn't think the DoubleTree by Hilton in Melbourne, Australia, would be so ordinary and even disappointing. The King Sky River room had very dirty windows with many stains. The room was very plain, with old and dirty walls, and the furnishings were simple, comparable to a 3-star hotel. The breakfast was very poor, low quality, and lacked variety. The only positive aspect of this hotel was the friendly staff and good location.

Ahhh Melbourne. Let me start by saying that prior to this stay, the last time I visited Melbourne was 15 yrs ago. I stayed at the DoubleTree for 8 nights while attending the Australian Open tennis. And while the hotel was very crowded, as you can image, I had a wonderful stay. Excellent location, close to restaurants, grocery, and public transportation (however very walkable to the entire city). Great views of the sunrise, hot air balloons, and colorful Flinders station at night. The entire staff was welcoming (acknowledged Diamond status), professional and efficient. Special shout out to Madisyn (front desk manager) for her assistance with just about everything and Nos (breakfast manager), both were so pleasant and eager to help. Hopefully, I will travel back to Melbourne for the AO 2025 and look forward to another great stay. Save me a cookie! Camille
