We’ve stayed here previously and enjoyed the experience but this trip was disappointing. From the outset, this review is nothing to do with the staff who were obliging, courteous, helpful and willing to assist. Similar to an earlier review, the hotel location appears to be at the bottom end of town - case in point, we were enjoying a drink in the foyer (happy hour) when a homeless man entered, approached our table and attempted conversation. He left after non- engagement and speaking with hotel staff ( who checked on us also - apparently security didn’t start until 7)). The homeless situation in Melbourne looks bad, more so at this end of town around the train station. The room rate increases of a weekend but justification for the added noise and disturbance is questionable despite the fact we were on the eleventh floor - no double glazing didn’t help a largely sleepless night from the doof doof of a nearby venue, emergency vehicle sirens and old mate bellowing in the street for an hour or so. We’ll likely book elsewhere next time.

I recently stayed at the DoubleTree by Hilton Flinders Street (my fourth in recent times) and was thoroughly impressed as always by the service and thoughtful touches that made my visit unforgettable. As a Diamond Hilton Honours member, I was warmly welcomed at check-in with a smile and, of course, one of those iconic warm DoubleTree cookies! The team went above and beyond, recognising my loyalty with an upgrade to a King Guest Room with Balcony. The balcony was a fantastic spot to relax, offering stunning views of Flinders Street Station and the bustling Melbourne streetscape below. The room was spotless, spacious, and stylishly appointed. The bedding was crisp and supremely comfortable, guaranteeing a restful night’s sleep after a busy day exploring Melbourne. The bathroom was modern, well-lit, and stocked with quality amenities, which is always appreciated. One unique feature to note: while there’s no Executive Lounge at this property, Diamond and Gold members receive Happy Hour priced drinks all day at the bar downstairs—a great touch that made winding down in the evening even more enjoyable. Location-wise, it’s unbeatable. The hotel is right in the heart of the city, with Flinders Street Station and trams on the doorstep, making it easy to get around. Federation Square, laneway cafes, and fantastic dining options are all just a short walk away. For anyone looking for a convenient, comfortable, and welcoming place to stay in Melbourne, I highly recommend the DoubleTree by Hilton Flinders Street. The exceptional service and thoughtful perks for Hilton Honours members ensure I’ll be back on my next trip to this vibrant city.

Great location right down on flinders street. Close to anything and everything ! The staff are very lovely and so helpful/accommodating. The rooms are small but spacious. Very clean, and comfortable. I’ve stayed here before and I’ll stay here again. Great stay in Melbourne!

We had a three night stay in a King City View room. The good The room (815) was a decent size, quiet and had a very good bed and pillows. The bathroom was large & clean and had plenty of bench space for toilet bags etc & ok water pressure in the big, walk-in shower. Staff were pretty friendly and helpful and arranged housekeeping to service our room when we were out for dinner because we'd been napping when they came in the afternoon. The not great There wasn't really a view and the room was quite dark. Because of the layout there was only 1 bedside table which is a pain for the person who goes without. There are no USB charging ports near the bed (the one in the back of the alarm clock didn't work). Have to get out of bed to turn the lights off as no switches at the bed. Coffee in the pods was dreadful. The location The hotel is across the road from Flinders Station, on the free tramline, walking distance to Degraves St, the restaurants and bars on the south side of the river and the CBD/shopping area. But it is a bit of a scungey part of town, surrounding streets are grimy, lots of fast food outlets and there are some interesting sights late at night. Bear this in mind if it might bother you. Conclusion Comfortable hotel in convenient - but not salubrious- part of town. Missing a few modern comfort features that would give it a higher rating.

A stylish hotel perfectly located in the heart of Melbourne. The free tram stop is just a block away, and the vibrant restaurant and bar district along the Yarra River is less than a 5-minute walk. In addition to the stunning lobby, this hotel stands out for its exceptional staff. I truly felt that the guest was the top priority in everything they did. Special thanks to Nos, who provided outstanding service during breakfast—her attentiveness really made my stay memorable.
