Park Hyatt Melbourne

I would normally only stay in a hotel like this on a work trip, but my wife and I stayed here for two nights while working our way around Australia. I’m happy that we did stay here. The hotel is great - spacious rooms, excellent service, really lovely breakfast and a great 25m pool. The room probably could do with a bit of an upgrade at some point, but it was fine.

The hotel is set just outside the CBD, giving it a "peaceful yet convenient" location. The rooms are very large, beds are very comfortable, and the bathrooms are luxurious. The breakfast has improved significantly from a couple of years ago - although servings of yoghurt, etc seem a bit "fussy". Finally, a big thanks to the front desk staff. A colleague had messed up their reservation (making it for the wrong month). The front desk team dealt with this really well - and really looked after my colleague. - This is my "go to" hotel in Melbourne.

Wonderful luxury hotel close to Melbourne CBD. Spacious rooms with all of the expected amenities and additions. Housekeeping was excellent, breakfast setting was opulent with a great menu, function rooms were comfortable and well appointed.

As you enter the foyer there is a feeling of elegance about all of the marble and wood. The room was not quite ready and so we were given a voucher for a drink in the lounge bar while we waited. Our room was spacious and comfortable with a large bathroom with double sinks, a big shower and separate tub. The only downside was that the view was that of the elevated tennis court rather than the skyline one would have expected from the 14th floor. Breakfast was very good with varied buffet and a separate egg station. Staff were very helpful and efficient and the concierge did a fine job of finding us a restaurant within walking distance in our first night. Overall it was a very good hotel in a very convenient location, ideal for seeing the city center, walking in the parks or visiting the sports and event complexes nearby.

We were very impressed with the Park Hyatt. The facility is very well maintained and the rooms are in excellent condition. The public space is clean and pleasant. Although we were not in Melbourne for the Australian Open, the hotel turned out to be the venue selected by Asics for its contract players and accordingly very busy. Notwithstanding that fact, the staff was attentive to all guests and the presence of the players did not create a problem.
