About the Hotel

Yucatan is a historically rich region of Mexico, home to the ancient Mayan culture. In the downtown historic center, you can visit the city cathedral, an impressive 16th century construction or you can go to interesting museums, such as the Yucatan Museum of Archaeology. You can also take a ride in a horse-drawn carriage down the city`s main avenue, Paseo Montejo, which is lined with 19th century mansions and the Hyatt Regency Merida hotel. Reviews for Hyatt Regency Merida

Excellent stay with kind service

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

I recently had a wonderful relaxing stay. The hotel itself is clean and serviceable- not the most glamorous you’ve ever seen but clean, generous and well run. It is a very good VALUE for money with knowledgeable and kind staff. I enjoyed access to the executive lounge and a full breakfast daily. Breakfast was plentiful and tasty! The lounge attendant was efficient and friendly! My room was comfortable with a good work area. Housekeeping did a great job. I enjoyed chilling out by the pool with my book. Pool beverages and food were respectable and well priced! Thanks for a great stay! Thanks to Sergio for proactively allowing me to stay in the same room- even though I had two reservations! That really helped!

Horrible stay. Be warned!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

Horrible experience. When we checked in we were told that there wouldn’t be any water for three hours. After six hours we still had no water so they moved us to another room. This room had construction going on (hammering and drilling) next door at 8 pm. When we asked them to stop the construction for the evening so we could sleep they said they couldn’t stop it and it would go on all night. So we got a third room. Very inconvenient to unpack and pack again with each room move. The third room had an adjoining suite that was very loud. By now we had to get to bed for a 5 am departure to the airport. Terrible! And no compensation offered even though we didn’t get the service we paid for!

no hot water

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

I was trying to have a shower and after 15 minutes waiting for hot water I decide to ask for help that never was coming (after 30 minutes more I left). What worries me is not only water temperature, the fact to tell me that some one will come and never come this explanation

One of the Best Hyatts Experience in Mexico

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

I've travelled to many Hyatts within Mexico. This was one of the best Hyatts yet. Check in was great. Our flight was delayed by 5 hours, but once we landed around 2:30am. The staff still gave me a phone call to check on our status. Once we arrived at the hotel, they were ready for us to check in and even opened the kitchen to make us some food since we were so hungry from our long travels from California. Btw, the food was amazing. Everyone knows room service food is not always the best. But not at this Hyatt especially it being almost 3am. The service was great, the staff was very attentive and the club access on the 17th floor was so beautiful and relaxng. Plus the location was perfect being right next to Paseo Montejo. Will definitely come back again!

Excellent Merida Option!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 weeks ago

An excellent hotel! It is conveniently located at the north end of the Paseo Montejo and nearby the Fiesta Americana shopping center, a Walmart Supercenter for any needed grocery or other items, and along a stretch of cafes/restaurants/and museums (all within easy walking distance). The bed was incredibly comfortable, room was spacious, and it came equipped with a coffee maker using espresso style pods. The pool-area is beautiful and has a full-service bar. The gym includes a set of treadmills, stationary bikes, free weights, mats, additional weight machines, and a Peloton bike (make sure to link your Peloton account with your Hyatt account for additional 100 bonus points on 20-minute workouts). Overall, this is an excellent hotel for the location, value, services, amenities, and I would highly recommend!
