Yucatan is a historically rich region of Mexico, home to the ancient Mayan culture. In the downtown historic center, you can visit the city cathedral, an impressive 16th century construction or you can go to interesting museums, such as the Yucatan Museum of Archaeology. You can also take a ride in a horse-drawn carriage down the city`s main avenue, Paseo Montejo, which is lined with 19th century mansions and the Hyatt Regency Merida hotel. It`s a pleasant tour blending historic sights with the new world.

Hotel feels new and is very clean, staff are courteous and helpful. Food is excellent, possibly better than nearby restaurants (which are great!). Beds are very comfortable, rooms are large and bathroom is great.Nice swimming pool. Would go again.

Every staff member from the airport shuttle driver, to concierge, housekeeping, restaurant staff were friendly, helpful, welcoming , and amazing! The Hyatt Merida is a beautiful hotel, with an awesome pool and is in a fantastic location to see the city by foot. I highly recommend staying here on your next trip to Merida.

It's my 2nd visit to Merida and to Hyatt. What I love is the hospitality of the people from the front desk, bellmen, housekeeping and food and beverage workers. The rooms are spacious and plenty of room to put your things. It's very clean as well. The breakfast/brunch buffet is amazing, I wish I had enough stomach to eat everything. The bakery has a vareity of pastries absolutely delicious along with good coffee. They have a small clean gym which we took advantage of, but can get full fast early morning. It's walking distance to many good places to shop and eat. Uber is cheap if you want to explore further.

Very nice hotel. Excellent breakfast and friendly staff! Hotels needs to provide guest with option of a do-it-yourself laundry room. Having house keeping doing the laundry is very expensive especially with 2 kids and 5 days stay.

We thought that Hyatt had international standards that applied to all hotels with the brand. Not so. We noticed that personnel working in the restaurant were not wearing gloves. Those cutting the fruit, preparing the food, etc. So, we told a supervisor that this was not acceptable. The following day, it was the same. Mexico already has a reputation for people getting intoxicated; the least they can do is take safety measures to minimize human contact with the food. Needless to say we did not eat the fruit or anything raw.
