About the Hotel

Yucatan is a historically rich region of Mexico, home to the ancient Mayan culture. In the downtown historic center, you can visit the city cathedral, an impressive 16th century construction or you can go to interesting museums, such as the Yucatan Museum of Archaeology. You can also take a ride in a horse-drawn carriage down the city`s main avenue, Paseo Montejo, which is lined with 19th century mansions and the Hyatt Regency Merida hotel. It`s a pleasant tour blending historic sights with the new world.

Reviews for Hyatt Regency Merida

**Hyatt Regency Merida Review – 2.5/5**

**Hyatt Regency Merida Review – 2.5/5** Hyatt Regency Merida offers a convenient location with plenty of shops and eateries nearby, including Walmart and Subway. Check-in was quick and easy, which I appreciated after a late arrival. While I didn’t try the on-site dining options, there are a few options. The lobby’s decor captures the local charm, and the outdoor pool and massage services near the bar add to the relaxing vibe. The onsite fitness center had your essential workout equipment but could use an upgrade. While my stay had some great moments, there were a few bumps along the way. One evening, I was locked out of my room, and despite being across from a housekeeping meeting, staff hesitated to assist. After some back-and-forth, it was eventually resolved, but the process was unnecessarily complicated. Check-in had been smooth, but the next morning, after inquiring about extending my stay, I noticed an unexpected charge on my card. When I called the front desk, they initially denied it, but after escalating to a supervisor, I learned it was a mistake made by a staff member in training. The supervisor tried to resolve it, but what should have been a quick reversal turned into a lengthy and frustrating process. Although the charge was eventually refunded, it took much longer than it should have. Other minor issues included a cold room on the first night and a musty smell in the hallway, but things improved by the second day. Overall, the hotel’s central location and tranquil atmosphere make it a solid option, though a bit of attention to service and maintenance would go a long way.

Comfortable stay

I was visiting Merida as the capital of Yucatan after Chitzen Itza visit . Had a great time. Very helpful staff and a good breakfast. Easy parking onsite was a big plus. There are some lovely buildings and good trendy restaurants nearby. Wish I could have stayed longer.

Modern lodging in Merida.

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

The Hyatt Merida is a very nice hotel in a great location. The rooms offer all the modern amenities, and the staff is friendly and professional. The breakfast buffet was very good, but the Italian restaurant was superb. Beware, the pool offers limited sun exposure which could be a benefit in the warmer months. I would recommend this hotel if you were visiting Merida.

Fantastic Stay!

Fantastic stay! One of the best Hyatt Regencies we have been to. This was our second stay here; the first was in November 2023. The service at this hotel was top notch and very responsive. We are Globalists with Hyatt and had access to the club lounge for complimentary breakfast and snacks throughout the day. The food was very good with varied selection, but the pastries were out of this world amazing! The pastry chef(s) had the most delicious pastries outside of Paris that I have had- from cream cheese rolls to lemon tarts, everything was so delicious. In fact, I'd go back just to have the pastries again. lol. The hotel was centrally located and an easy walk or short/cheap cab ride to the main tourist sights and restaurants. We had a suite with great city views and it was beautifully appointed with very comfortable beds and more than enough room for my husband, me and our two kids.

Good Stay for the price

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

Very clean. Everything as expected valet parking, we paid for the club experience with the Room. And as such, received free meals in both the happy hour times and breakfast. Definitely worth the price. We have an allergy to down and feather pillows and so we asked for non-feather pillows and it took four phone calls to get the pillows delivered to our room. Really a minor complaint in the grand scheme.
