Reviews for Z Ocean Hotel South Beach

Don't Let Your Dog Stay Here!!!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

OMG!! it is absolutely unimaginable that this hotel is still in business!!! I am a frequent visitor to Miami Beach and I have stayed at some of the smallest art deco properties and the largest five-star properties there. Based on an incentive offered by my airline, I decided to try the Z Ocean. This property was recently acquired by a new group, that obviously are not concerned with the quality of this property. Upon check there was urine on the toilet from a previous stay; soiled linen; vents; and uncleaned floors, furniture, and fixtures. They even had painting tape covering the smoke/fire detectors in the room.......although, the rooms appeared as though they had not been painted in decades. There are no locks securing the bathroom, and the entire property has a smell of mold! I am generally easy going about my stays and understand the nuances that go with staying in an area of frequent destinations, but this property is FLAT OUT NASTY!! I stand by this review!

Try another hotel

The hotel presents itself very nice on website. But beware - although in a nice active part of south beach, it is one of the hotels in most disrepair. Pool was unappealing with no view, the premises itself was old, dirty and mismanaged. The hotel is being painted. What’s being painted is just the old walls and doors and moulding. Only one very slow elevator is working- you were told not to use the stairs. The bicycles they offer are being repaired, the pool table and shuffle board table are ancient. My advice is try another hotel.

Poor customer service and lack of knowledge within there team

Very disappointed with this hotel. When we arrived they hadn’t received payment from the 3rd party prestigia so the receptionist sent the accounts team a copy of our payment. Today we have seen Z ocean has taken out payment for 3 rooms. When I tried to phone hotel the guy on the phone was not helpful as I requested he email us the bills for each room. He proceeded to say he couldn’t help and we would need to call back tomorrow. We are now flying back to England worrying about a lot of money being taken from our accounts. The hotel should have told us before taking money out of our account. Don’t even get me started on the poor facilities and smelly rooms.

Serenity Now

My wife and I went to the ZOcean Hotel for the first time in the fall of 2024. We had such a great time that we came back twice more in the winter. The rooms are huge, truly a suite, with spacious closets and drawers, a microwave and two small refrigerator/freezers, two sinks and a fabulous shower in separated areas in the bathroom, and a long balcony with chaise lounges and a table and chairs. The location can’t be beat. It’s just a few-minute walk to the beach, and the resort fee pays for chairs and an umbrella. The pool is kept at a great temperature. There is no need for a car because restaurants, shops and activities are all a walk away, or at most a short Uber or Lyft ride. Whether it’s eating at upscale places like Gianni at the former Versace mansion or Rao’s in the Loews Hotel, or at the fun places on Espanola Way, or shopping on Ocean Drive or Lincoln Road, or walking to the marina at South Pointe, everything is so nicely nearby. It didn’t take long for the front desk staff, George, Serge, and Antoni, and other hotel associates Bryant and Daniel, to address us by name. We really felt that this was a home away from home, and we look forward to a return visit when once again we get the craving for warmth and sunshine, going to the beach, and relaxing on the balcony

very disappointed

we found the facility to be run down compared to other places we haver been, like the Palms a few blocks north. The location is very good, but the facility is run down. The room we were given has a broken toilet seat, the chair fabric was worn, the TV connections were from 20 years ago. Instead of stayhin g 2 nites, we cancelled second nite and went up to the Palms, which for about the same about of $$, is all updated and clean.
