2 rooms leak water from the roof

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

We stayed this week December 10 2024 the first room started to leak water from the roof, they changed us to another room and it started leaking also. when we talked to the night manager he threatens with calling the police at that point I was having a mini zeisure and the hotel did not render any service or first aid and I had to call 911 for an ambulance, the hotel manager did not even stand from his chair and they did not refund anything not even 1 night

Dated Dump. Terrible Service.

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

I have stayed at many Sonesta Hotels and they have always been outstanding. This place is a dated dump with terrible service. Worse was we did not feel safe. Hard to believe this is part of the Sonesta chain. The hotel was probably gorgeous when it first opened obviously along time ago. There has been terrible upkeep. Some of the common areas have missing door stops, doors have obvious damage and the trim on our floor looked it was painted with white primer. Our room was large with a roof deck with a hot tub. The hot tub looked gross. Dirty, chipped paint. Would not stop foot in it. The shower bench had a crack. And the whole place looked terribly dated. The furniture on the roof deck was dirty and rusty. One day we saw a police officer bullet proof vest and all across the hall in a room. When we asked downstairs we were told he was there to check the safety of the balconies. When we went outside there was a police crime scene van parked directly in front of the hotel. When we returned at the end of the day we were told there was a break in but that happens all over south beach. Boy that made us feel good. Next morning there was a poor girl walking down the hall knocking on every door with bags of food strung out on something. Very sad. Told front desk and the staff at the front desk told me she was an airbnb guest and likely could not find her room. The front door staff promised to go up and help. But 20 minutes later our friends told us she was still knocking on doors. Turns out some of the rooms in the hotel are actually AirBnbs. Found them online for a couple of hundred bucks a night. No housekeeping and was told you have to request it. No one told us that at check in. I am gold Sonesta member. None of benefits offered at check in. Until this place is overhauled from top to bottom in cuddling the staff I would avoid this place at all costs.

A great place !!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

My husband and I were very impressed by this hotel right in the heart of South Beach Miami. Very spacious room, great and comfortable King Size bed, wonderful bathroom with two sinks and a big shower. Also a lovely heated pool in a courtyard, plus hot tub. The best part however was the amazing huge balcony which we enjoyed every night sitting outside people watching with a glass of wine. Also included was a breakfast credit of $20 each at the attached restaurant plus two beach chairs and an umbrella on the beach. The only issue was a problem getting the internet but once I mentioned this I was immediately offered a credit which I very happy about. Such a great place, we would definitely stay there again. Thank you Z Ocean.

Book at your own risk

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

Booked this hotel although some of the reviews were not so good first of all do not book if you are looking to relax and enjoy one of the spa rooms none of the jets work in any of the rooms they send someone to sweep it out not clean drop a bath bomb in and fill with water after you have signed a form not to fill or operate the tub yourself so this is there hot tub second never received any wash cloths my whole stay had to pay housekeeping for was cloths to magically appear in my room thirdly day 2 and 3 elevator was down someone had to operate it manually from inside so there was a 5-10 wait every time you needed to come and go from your room only positive thing is that the beach is a 2 to 3 minute walk from hotel and if u are renting a vehicle and want to park at the hotel prepare to pay 40 dollars a day for parking or find cheaper and have to walk back and fourth to the hotel if you plan to book here book a regular room with minimal expectations as some photos and descriptions are misleading so book at your own risk otherwise if you can afford to pay a little extra to hopefully get what you pay for and enjoy your vacation.
