On nearly 400 acres in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Salamander Resort & Spa is a refreshing retreat amidst Virginia's lush vineyards and famed horse country. Boasting 168 luxurious rooms and suites, a dedicated cooking studio, wine bar, and equestrian center, this hotel is spacious, sophisticated, and singular in its services, amenities, and facilities. The manicured Grand Lawn leads the way to a collection of buildings set across the property like a majestic New England estate, where every room is decadently designed to embrace openness and light. Three impressive ballrooms, two 1,000-square foot suites, and numerous terraces, gardens, and beautifully bucolic areas double as unique function spaces to suit your business or celebratory needs. From classically inspired furnishings to personalized touches, no detail is overlooked with your comfort at hand. Embracing pastoral influences, and the beloved equestrian community, rooms and suites are outfitted in deep earth tones and pristine cream colors to encourage calm and tranquility. Crackling fireplaces set the mood during winter months, while warm weather is welcomed in through French doors that open to stone terraces and balconies with scenic views of the property. Deep pedestal tubs and large, walk-in showers with body jets and televisions await in the bathrooms designed for maximal comfort. Your every expectation is exceeded in accommodations that set a refined, unhurried tone for your stay at an unparalleled resort in an unparalleled location.

Pay a grand a night, a resort fee, and not having access to the spa is insane and greedy. Everything is overpriced. You will feel robbed when you leave this place. $8 for a half cup of juice at the bar. $300 for a massage. You will be better off staying at a regular hotel in Dulles and going to Kings spa

Nice little getaway that’s very accessible from the dmv area. The property is gorgeous and the staff was friendly. I will say that I felt that the hotel room itself was a little worn/dated and not in a good way. Very early 2000s with espresso colored furniture and sad beige tile. Did not scream luxury to me. The bed was very comfortable though and we enjoyed the fireplace and balcony. The town of middleburg is adorable and we took the short walk from the property to the center of it. So many cute shops and restaurants. Harrimans was just ok imo but the gold cup wine bar was nice. I had a spa treatment which I had no complaints about it was very nice. We just heard amazing things and I expected it to be another level.. not sure if it is tbh. Overall I would return, I just think it’s time to update some things and if you enjoy interior design you will notice the things I mentioned.

Salamander Resort is a magical place. The property is beautiful, the spa is luxurious, and the equestrian experiences they offer are really special. If you are looking for a get away weekend with great food, activities, relaxation, and amenities, I highly recommend trying Salamander Resort!

Resort is beautiful and I have been going there for years but this last trip was the final straw with the constant poor service you experience throughout the resort. The staff need to be trained better and none of them have a sense of urgency when it comes to resolving concerns and issues. Sadly I will not be going back and don’t waste your time with getting iprefer status with them - it really gets you nothing extra for all the money you spend.

Great place to stay for business, family or friends. Super comfortable rooms, large conference rooms with great catering, cozy leaving rooms with chimney. I stayed at fourth floor with balcony facing the gardens, so relaxing sunset and peaceful sensation.
