This was my husband and I's 1st trip together to Italy. Both our 1st time to Northern part. We picked hotel due to proximity to Duomo & walking distance of The Last Supper painting (20 mins) which we had purchased tickets for at home. We decided to fly into Milan and start our vacation here, which was in multiple parts. We chose Linate airport and the hotel was about 30-40 mins away during early aftternoon Sunday traffic. We got there March 30th and stayed 2 nights. We had a car &:decided after trying to get into nearby parking garage (requires app. & some sort of code), ended up just paying extra for valet parking. It was worth it, less hassle & we weren't using the car while we were in Milan anyways. Plus, it was a Sunday and we didn't have to pay the tourist tax. The hotel lobby had construction going on at time and that could be a bit distracting. You can take the steps up or use small lift. Check in was fairly quick and we booked a basic room & ended up in Room 422. We had a Superior room with double bed (17 square meters). Mini bar/fridge, safe which we used. There was a bidet & soap, shampoo & lotion on wall. No washcloths. The room looked out onto other buildings. There was a small area to hang stuff up, luggage rack & places to plug in phone charger. There was a small desk with chair, another small plush chair & side table. There seemed to be plenty of lighting options. The room was tight and somewhat dated but clean & we made it work. We do wish the room had a balcony, but at least window opened. It was very warm for that time of year & heat was till on. We didn't have much luck turning it off. We were told by hotel staff that Italy has a rule that Air Conditioning can't be turned on till later in April. So we slept with window open that 1st night. There was no screen so mosquitos were able to enter. We kept the curtains closed during day so sun wouldn't heat up again but it was also sifling the 2nd night, we had to open window again. The breakast was good with some choices, no omelet station but various types of baked goods, bread, yogurt, cereal, fruit, oatmeal, scrambled/hard boiledeggs, meat, tomatoes, cukes, 1-2 chees types. We did go up to rooftop shallow (2 ft maybe) pool on 5th floor & this was nice space with chairs, small tables and towels available. I sat in the pool and cooled off which was nice. At night we went up with cold drinks and enjoyed the night air and view of Duomo steeple. We didn't go into spa/fitness area. The beds were firm but toleratble, better than soft. We didn't utilize housekeeping while there. They did provide 2 complimentary bottles of water. I also had a reusable one with me. We are so glad we didn't go during peak season. There are lots of restaurants and shops nearby. The Duomo really is about a 10 minute walk into the square if that. There were still a lot of people and tour groups. Our hotel wasn't large enough to accomodate tour groups thank goodness. The Duomo is worth seeing, 5th largest in world and amazing architecture (separate review). Overall, happy with the hotel and staff. It's a historic building but could of used some modern touches. Screens on the windows is a must!!

Best thing about the hotel is the location. Staff are very pleasant. Place is clean. I have been to this hotel many times over the past 10 years and I was staying Monday/Thursday inclusive As with most hotels they have excellent, good, and ok rooms. I asked for a good room. I got a not-ok room. It was small, odd-shaped and looked out on to a dull grey car park ramp. Bathroom amenities - liquid soap and shampoo in adjacent bottles with nozzles. Almost impossible to work. Soap did not foam - it was like liquid jelly. And that was it apart from a box of tissues. I do not think I will be back.

Spacious, modern rooms in a classic building. The rooms have 2 bathrooms for your convenience, in the one bed rooms. The building is conveniently close to the Galleria and Piazza de Duomo The breakfast is terrific with a manned coffee bar. We strongly recommend this hotel.
