Just....fine if dissapointing. In the middle of a renovation

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

I paid extra to stay here over the W and was quite excited about it, but in the end I wished I'd done the W or Emery/Elliot/Randall Park of the Marriott's rather than this one. Just note, as I did not realize they are doing some major renovation on their lobby. The ceiling was ripped out above the reception and something that looked like black mold was up there. They are clearly about to tear it out but it was there while I was there and it certainly didn't feel luxurious. The lobby bar is also ripped out and again a bit of an eye sore at the moment. When I checked in, the staff was very friendly, but my nightly upgrade award was denied though they mentioned they'd put me on a higher floor. Disappointing as the hotel seemed to be very quite with plenty of rooms available. I did enjoy the base room, it was spacious and had a shower and tub, again just not worth the price. I had drinks at Masa & Agave which was lovely, that is definitely the better food and beverage outlet here. Breva...was NOT good. Breakfast there was a joke. The $40 titanium breakfast will not cover much there. Portions were downright laughable. My partner got the avocado toast which was laughably small, barely a numb of bread and almost $20 on its own. The $23 breakfast was lacking in the eggs department and just not enough food. I do not think it is priced accordingly for the area. My partner used the gym which he said was great. Overall the hotel was quiet and clean, but the renovations, lack of the lobby bar and disappointing breakfast just didn't make this one I'd revisit.

Coming back every year

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

We visit the Hotel Ivy and Anda spa every year on our wedding anniversary. Every year we always leave feeling welcomed, cared for, and rejuvenated. The staff makes the check-in experience feel personal and the quality of the hotel is class. They also have a bottle of wine or champagne delivered to our room every year as a token of celebration and appreciation. If you're visiting Minneapolis, the Hotel Ivy has a great location, beautiful rooms, and a luxurious (but not stodgy) atmosphere. You won't be disappointed!

Pampered Life

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

10/10 recommend. If you want to be pampered, go here! They will take very good care of you. This hotel went above and beyond to spoil me on my birthday. I had a very good time and would definitely go back. For a more detailed description of my stay, check out the pictures attached.

Such a great staff and pristine environment!

I had tickets to go to see a performer in Minneapolis in early October who had to postpone and eventually cancel. My husband came with, and got us a room at Hotel Ivy. The check-in staff was absolutely amazing, and selected us as the Hilton Honors customer of the week. We were given a stipend in our account, and they sent up the most delicious chocolate cake to our pristine, beautiful, clean room. My husband got me a massage to surprise me in their spa, and the entire experience was so relaxing. The Aura waiting room reminded me of old opium dens that you see on movies - chaises surrounded by curtains, fur blankets, ambient lighting. It was so relaxing (please note, there was no opium). I then got taken back for my massage, and it was absolutely wonderful. It wasn't the deep tissue, hurt you until you feel better kind - it was blissful elegance, truly relaxing and made to help you truly enjoy yourself. This is a great location and a great staff!

Great hotel in downtown Minneapolis

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

I booked a 2-night stay last weekend for a couple of events on Thursday and Friday nights, checking out on Saturday (check out time was noon). The proximity to a few of the venues I was attending (which allowed me to walk instead of having to drive or take a rideshare) as well as many great restaurants made this a great choice. I’m a Marriott Bonvoy member so I had a discounted rate and was also able to check in through the app, create a mobile key and could have ordered food or other in-room services using the app too. I utilized the valet parking for both nights in lieu of self park (2 close locations are provided for self park if you choose that instead) because of some limited mobility issues I have. This was very convenient and provided me direct access to the front entrance when parking and allowed me to come and go as I needed (in-out parking during the entire stay). The valet staff, including Hamza, were all very helpful, friendly and fast, even when there were a few cars arriving or leaving at the same time. The front desk staff was also very helpful, answering a couple of questions over the phone that I had before booking the room, giving advice as to the best rideshare app to choose after I had arrived and always offering free cold bottles of water whenever I returned. They also brought extra towels and some different pillows while I was out for a few hours the second day. The bed was very comfortable, the bathroom was large, very nice and stocked with most everything you would need and the furniture and design of the rooms were all excellent. The room was quiet both from adjacent guests as well as any outside traffic. I was on the 14th floor (only accessible with my room key) and I never heard anybody inside or outside at night or during the day when I was there. I didn’t use the in room dining, mini bar or either of the restaurants but everything on the menu looked great. Will definitely look at booking and staying here when in Minneapolis again.
