Sunny skies shine brightly over lush stretches of vineyards, cool crisp air flows through fields, and the beauty of the Renaissance era is brought to life once more - all in Montalcino, Italy's Castello di Velona. Nestled in the hills of Siena, in Tuscany's picturesque d'Orcia Valley, this stunning 11th-century castle has been fully restored and today offers a fairytale luxury European escape. Immerse yourself in serenity in either the traditional castle rooms or the new spa-style rooms, relaxing in complete comfort and enjoying sweeping views of Tuscany. The classically styled Castello Rooms are charming and full of life, with antique furnishings, and ornate style reminiscent of Italy's artistic history. Conversely, opt to embrace sleek modernity in the Spa Rooms, outfitted in warm whites and cream tones, boasting an elegant simplicity with plush linens and indulgent soaking tubs that flow with natural mineral spring water.

We recently stayed at Castello Di Velona 4 nights with friends from Europe. The hotel location is spectacular. The views of the Tuscan countryside are exceptional. We especially enjoyed the thermal pool, and spa treatments. Hotel staff and services were also 5 stars level. Morning breakfast was really good, with many fresh options. We also had dinner at the hotel one evening in the main restaurant. While prices were higher than other restaurants we went to during our trip to Tuscany, service was exceptional, and our food was excellent. So overall, we truly enjoyed our stay and would recommend this hotel to family and friends.

Castello di Velona was a one a kind experience. The entire resort was 5 star . The employees from the servers all the way up the Massimo Priore(Operations manager) and Alessandro Sapia (Director) made you feel like family! Not to mention the wine they serve and make is second to none! Can’t wait to return in the very near future !

Beautiful property and stunning views!!!! makes up for bad service. It is such a shame; the management can do little things to make the guest experience memorable but they seem like they don't care. But on the positive side, the spa is very nice with hot springs. Thats why the 4 stars. I had 2 treatments and they both were with Alessandro. He is very experienced, and I am used to massages but this was exceptional as he blends the modern massage techniques with the ancient treatments (Reiki). If you're visiting this property, try a treatment with Alessandro, you will NOT be disappointed. The views are breath taking!!!! Nicki Reddy

I had asked my daughter when she was making reservations for our trip to Italy, that all I wanted was to stay in a castle. She found us an amazing one! The views were amazing, pool & room lovely, staff very friendly. Dinner was a bit pricey though.

Massimo Priore, Operations Manager, thank you for making my birthday so special. The suite was astonishing, and the views of the vineyards were breathtaking. It was the perfect place to celebrate such a special occasion. Your generosity and attention to detail did not go unnoticed. Thank you again for everything! I recommended my sister to celebrate her birthday in October, and once again they were given the royal treatment by Massimo and all of the magnificent staff at Castello di Velona. Everything was perfect, the suite decor, the Spa, the thermal waters, the private wine tasting, helicopter ride. Everything Castello di Velona has to offer is simply splendid.

Most outstanding was Castello di Velona, located on its own hill in Montalcino, Italy. Just approaching it was a fairy tale. This restored castle enabled me to imagine what it would be like being a princess for five wonderful nights. The suite encompassed two rooms, with exquisite furnishings and frescoes. The views from the windows looked upon the vineyards and winding roads of Tuscany. The service and food were wonderful.
