We had a great time at the resort. The staff were exceptional in their service and in their efforts to make sure you have a great experience. Even though other guests had experienced some issues due to a burst water pipe, which was completely unforeseen, we were unaffected for the most part. Our stay was absolutely enjoyable and we met really awesome people whilst there. Exceptional staff to note: Paul and Neo the butlers, Tobey the server at Waves restaurant, Winston the server at Le Bouchon (The Steakhouse) and Jermaine with the beach activities. Jermaine gathered up the vacationers for many fun and exciting volleyball games which everyone enjoyed. We really had a great time and the food was exceptional. My entire family couldn’t stop raving about the food and the service.

I’ll start with some of the good things on the trip: 1. The location was actually solid - right on the beach 2. The weather was fantastic all week 3. Leaving the resort Now, on to some of the not good things: 1. Waited for our room to be ready from 1, until after 4. It actually wasn’t until we went to the counter a couple of times that our room was miraculously ready. We paid for an upgrade (don’t bother), and they still put us in the wrong room. After about a half hour or so, they moved us to an upgraded room (ocean front). 2. The ceiling in the “upgraded” was leaking. We called down and after an hour, they sent someone up who wiped it down and told us we shouldn’t open the patio door because the heat, mixed with A/C causes the ceiling to leak. Yes, the only reason we upgraded was for the view and we couldn’t enjoy it! 3. The next night we found out that the seal on the patio doors were basically gone because we could hear the wind inside the room…it was so loud, you couldn’t sleep….and the ceiling kept leaking because of the hot air! So, after 2 nights of no sleep, we asked to be moved., which they obliged (probably should’ve put that under the “good comments”). 4. The food - bring your own! I’m not sure what they classify as food, but that ain’t it. From the inedible pasta (from a can) to the desserts (sitting around for a while), there wasn’t much to stomach at the resort. 5. The drinks - again…make your own…or just order beer or wine. 6. The service - from room service taking over an hour ( food not good - see # 4) to a towel taking 2 and a half hours to be delivered (yes, just a towel…the maid service left us ONE towel after cleaning the room) to the “attitude” for requesting things, this took the cake (and not the cake they serve at the resort because, well, you get it). 7. No hot water in our building for 3 days!!! I’ve done my fair share of traveling and this had to be one of the most mismanaged and terribly run resorts I’ve been to. We spoke to other guests who were having similar experiences and it’s sad because that’s people’s money and their vacation. I certainly wouldn’t go back and wouldn’t recommend a stay here. To top off the trip, the woman that checked us out said nothing but, “I’m refunding your security deposit and let me cut off your resort bracelets”. 1/5 and I’m being generous 😉

Where do I begin? This has been the worst resort and travel i have ever experienced. It started from the time we landed when our driver showed up over an hour late. Mind you we have a 2 year old and a 4 month old. Once we checked in we waited for our bell guy another hour. I don't understand why the hotel doesn't have enough golf carts to take the guests. We walked with our kids and belonging to our suite after waiting and them not showing up. When we went over to the Italian restaurant we waited another hour and a half for our food to come which is ridiculous! The food in every restaurant is so bland. The buffet never opens for dinner which is crazy. They have about 8 tables for seating in every restaurant but 3 buildings which is just crazy to me. How are people supposed to eat? The next day at our stay we went to Pelican Grill. I was told to leave with my 4 month old in 5 minutes if my husband did not show up with my sick daughter who was getting seen by a doctor. The overall of the rooms are outdated. We are paying so much money for a suite that is springy and hurts my back to even sit. This place is a total ripoff. They charge you for cabanas. Which other resort does that? There isn't enough ramps to take the stroller. It is not a child friendly resort.Overall this place has made my trip horrible. That one star that I'm giving is only for our butler Orrett who was kind and helpful.

Upon checking in I was told there was NO HOT WATER and that I would need to the spa to shower. The most inconvenient vacation/wedding ever! At times there was NO water at all. I had to request compensation it was NOT offered and it still was nominal. I will never return to this property. They tried to say it was an acute issue but the hot water heater failing was not new.

I came for a wedding and after 24 hours I was ready to go home. Honestly the buildings weee too old. The layout made getting a drink or food inconvenient especially with young kids. The major issues started with the room- the AC didn’t work and luckily the temperature was mild but it wasn’t comfortable. They initially resisted changing the room. When they finally did change the room, they did it when there was no hot water but the room we moved to had AC but turns out the hot water was out in the entire C building. Food was a major problem- the buffet was only breakfast and lunch. There isn’t enough restaurants available or open late. I ended up eating a majority of my meals off site. The bathroom with the walls the open into the room- i can guarantee that you will not have privacy if you have kids. Only good things were the beaches were nice, the staff were kind for the most part and the WiFi was good enough in the hotel room. But all of that is not enough to make the price point make any sense. Any rinkydink hotel can provide hot water and AC. This one could not. Don’t waste your money coming here
