About the Hotel

Situated in an historic 1882 building, Auberge du Vieux-Port boasts an illustrious past intrinsically linked to that of modern-day Montreal. Enjoying a close proximity to the St. Lawrence River, this former warehouse lay abandoned until 1995 when it was acquired and transformed into the jewel it is today. Now, this restored Old Montreal landmark offers an optimal location, refined accommodations and prize-winning French cuisine at the intimate Les Remparts.

Great location, wonderful staff, cozy rooms, clean and very enjoyable! Warm fire in the lobby, 2 adjoining restaurants. Delicious breakfast! highly recommend. Special thanks to Thiery who helped us with ideas to enjoy Montreal. Very personal and made us feel right at home.

Charming

We loved the charming character of the hotel: the sunny, spacious rooms, the cozy lobby area, the music playing. Visiting in winter, it was nice to have the lobby space to enjoy when it was so frigid out. The location was ideal for us—easy to walk to nice restaurants and shops. Staff were very friendly and helpful, especially Thomas, the concierge. My room overlooked the river, which was lovely. On Saturday night, there was a disco on the river that thumped away until midnight—if that would bother you, a room facing Rue de St Paul would be better. We will definitely recommend this charming hotel.

Romantic getaway location with exceptional staff and guest services!

This was our second stay at Auberge Du Vieux-Port. We loved our stay last year so much we wanted to come back. Thierry and the rest of the staff were so friendly, helpful and kind every time we had a question or needed guidance. The Gaspar staff were over the top service and so much fun. We had an amazing meal our first night and desert and coffee by the fire our second night. What a wonderful, romantic cozy atmosphere right on the port. We plan on coming back again and again!

Charming, Great Service, and Historic location

We wanted to get away for 5 nights and wanted to go where there was snow and people spoke French. So we chose Montreal. The Auberge du vieux port has so much character, the staff is amazing and bend over backwards, and the main level common areas were a delight to sit and enjoy a drink in front of the fireplace. The restaurant next door is fabulous and we highly recommend (make a reservation). The location in the old town of Montreal is lovely with lots of restaurants, shops and the amazing cathedral within walking distance.

In November, 2004, we stayed in Montreal at the Auberge du Vieux Port in Old Montreal. The inn is right on the St. Lawrence in a beautifully restored building in a charming section of the city. Staff were accommodating, friendly and informative in helping us make dining and sightseeing plans. We would highly recommend a visit to the Auberge du Vieux Port!
