The worst service you can imagine, in a place that has been under a very ugly renovation since the spring/summer, and promising to have it completed every month! And the renovations look hideous - like the hotel really would rather be a Tiffany jewelry store - lots of turquoise light fixtures that are like folded circles/stylized flowers? And something was brought to our room: the person knocked at the door and before we could even answer, just walked in! As frequent Accor members, we asked for a late checkout (1 pm), and our keys got cancelled at 11! For about forty dollars, you can enjoy a buffet breakfast - most of which you will not eat! We gave them lots of chances over the last 6 months. It used to be my preferred place to stay in Montreal, but we will never stay here again. The Valet service is the ONLY thing that stayed the same - still great.

The hotel needs to be honest and upfront on their website to let guests know that the hotel is under constructions and there are no amenities being offered such restaurant and gym. The rooms look a bit tired. Had we know we would have stayed at a different hotel. On the bright side the staff is very friendly and they try to help.

Rooms are fine. Pricing is a bit of a scam. They failed to tell me at booking that the whole hotel was being refurbished. As a result, although the rooms were ok, the other facilities were not available - e.g. no gym. When I challenged them about this by email, they claimed that it was visible on the website (it isn't) and that it was in my booking confirmation (it was, but hidden away in the small print). Then at the end of my stay they had the gall to charge an additional "Urban experience fee" of $18 per night. This despite actually my experience not matching what they had advertised. They care more about the money than their guests, so I would advise against this one.

Excellent customer service. Very comfortable beds and bed line s and bath linens. I know that hotel is under construction but it is very nice from second floor up Central location. Near major shopping h and restaurants and walking distance to train station. Would highly recommend this hotel

I have particularly expectations from a Sofitel! As an Accor member for over 20 years (Platinum), I think I didn’t get a serious upgrade. Of course the hotel is under renovation which wasn’t easily visible on the app. In the internet yes. However the hotel is also inside very loud and noisy. Difficult to sleep at night based on traffic, especially in the early morning hours! Breakfast max. Average! The worst Sofitel I have ever been! I really don’t wish to comment issues like this. But these two nights stay unforgettable! During the checkout the manager gave us a reasonable discount. Finally it’s not what we looked for… made the best out of it. I would recommend the Fairmont or Westin as at least the location is better downtown
