The Gault is in a very convenient position between the old town and downtown. It was easy to walk to Central Station, the Musée de Beaux-Arts or the Place des Arts. It’s spacious, uncluttered and very smart. The room is stylish enough to give me a buzz every time I got back and I enjoyed looking out on an elegant building opposite. The breakfast area lacks buzz, but there’s a good choice of hot dishes, nicely presented. I especially enjoyed the smoked salmon and cream cheese bagel. The coffees were excellent. I’d been dithering between the L Hotel and the Gault, but was glad I booked the Gault which looks a bit smarter from the outside. There was a daft issue with the room key, which had to be reprogrammed every day. Maybe it was something in my wallet, but I don’t generally have the same problem with other hotels. But the relaxed and friendly team on the desk did a great job whenever I needed help.

This is the nicest Hotel I’ve ever been in. No exceptions. I’ve traveled around the world since the 80’s. My wife and I rented two rooms. One for ourselves, and one for our daughter and grandson. Both were beautiful and clean. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful as well. Because we were starting our stay the week students and families began school again as well as renting two rooms for multiple days we were upgraded at no extra charge to an apartment for my wife and I. Wow! Because our bed had a duvet and no sheet our first night the sleeping was a little warmer than perfect for those liking really cool sleeping temps, but a requested sheet was provided thereafter and we slept soundly the remaining nights. I’m not going to provide many pics because I’m a messy by nature and it would be a disservice to a really beautiful hotel. The Gault is located in Old Montréal very close to multiple restaurants and attractions. I will stay there again should I return to Montréal. Thank you Hôtel Gault. 👍😎👍

Hotel Gault's staff were great, helpful, and courteous (especially Brian and Noks). We came earlier than the usual check-in time, so my husband and I roamed the area, which is very close to Old Montreal attractions. The hotel has a luggage storage area, so we are not worried about our luggage while waiting for our room to be ready. When we came back, we were told that our room had been upgraded to a nicer one, which made our stay in this hotel much special. Pillows are so huggable. We had a very nice and relaxing sleep. Breakfast was really good. We had our breakfast delivered to the room as we wanted to relax and watch TV while having our meal. Cleanliness: The room is really clean, the towels are new, and the toiletries are good, but they need to pay more attention to maintaining and deep cleaning the toilet bowl and bathroom, as they are very close to getting a bad review.

Beautiful boutique hotel in iconic old montreal. Stunning historic building. Exquisite and spacious hotel suite with amazing amentiities. Only issues are: staff at reception needs more trainif re customer service. Valet parking is ambiguous : $42 for overnight parking incl next day However told to evacuate by 2pm and checkout is as early as 11am ($50 surcharge per hr for late checkout ) Much needs to be re service yet hotel as a hotel is great re cleanliness and location is key

The Hotel Gault was one of the choices our friends gave us for their son's wedding weekend, and it didn't disappoint. Our large corner suite, which overlooked the street, was quite large and sunny (although it's easy to close the drapes whenever you want). The queen-size bed was on the soft side but it grew on me. The pillows were great (we ordered extras) and the air conditioning made no noise. The shower was terrific as was the housekeeping staff, who kept our room fresh and clean throughout our stay. We had breakfast in the hotel on two mornings -- both times the food was quite good (eggs one day, yogurt and granola the next). The croissants were excellent. Originally, the hotel was a late 19th century building (or two or three) and is very "old-world" charming, but the interiors are contemporary and well-designed. Its location in Old Montreal is fantastic, with walking access to many shops, restaurants, parks and attractions. Be aware, though, that you are in a city, with occasional city noise (though nothing too terribly late). If you like a boutique, urban hotel, this is a good bet when you visit Montreal.
