It is wel past check in time, and the lobby is full of people waiting for rooms. We’ve all had long travel days, of course. Nobody is happy. Disappointing start. No idea how long we will be waiting. Our family has been waiting to check in since 1:00. We expected we might need to wait until 4:00, but not this.

Elevation has two redeeming qualities: location and the ski shop. The hotel is nice and the location next to the base is perfect but the staff, while mostly friendly, doesn't seemed to be able to answer a lot of questions. We learned you have to ask for housekeeping to service the room; even when they do service the room it's not real obvious they do much besides restock the coffee (by the way, the coffee maker is a Keurig if that's helpful, we brought our own coffee and filters which were useless). Also, there are a lot of dogs here which I'd read in reviews before we booked it so that's on us. There seem to be a lot of dogs that maybe aren't socialized enough to be in a hotel so expect to see some growling and barking at people and other dogs, hear some barking from rooms, etc. Just be aware there are a lot of dogs at this hotel. There is a lot of trash in the hallways which I can only presume is from housekeeping not servicing rooms and the trash will lie in the hallway for days before anyone bothers to clean it up. If you're driving an oversized vehicle, they have a separate outdoor lot since the parking garage doesn't allow for vehicles over 6'6"; while this is nice, it's not very big and many of the oversized parking spots are taken by vehicles that are not oversized. The ski shop is staffed by helpful and friendly gentlemen, there's a ski valet where you can store your skis/boards overnight which is a great benefit here. We ate at Jose, the restaurant within the hotel and it's disappointing so I'd suggest going to one of the great restaurants in town. My wife and I stayed here around 12 years ago and our recollection then was of a much nicer and upscale experience that our recent experience does not compare favorably with. The rooms are okay, location is great, ski shop is a huge positive but don't expect much in the way of service from the hotel itself.

This place is truly horrible. It is beaten up. The rooms are motel 6 level. The staff is mostly indifferent. Check in times are mere suggestions. Parking and fees are on the level of a real hotel. Food is disgusting. Service is again just abysmal.

This is a tired hotel. It appears to be a 1990's hotel that has been not been maintained well and is stuck in the past. The staff is insufficiently competent and robotic. The dining options are disappointing and overpriced. The hallway carpets are dingy, the woodwork is chipped and soiled, and the wallpaper stained and in need of replacement. The hotel is overpriced for the quality of accommodations and amenities. Staying here was not an experience that overly frustrated me, but was certainly underwhelming.

From the staff to facilities and excellent views, this was a great spot to home base for a trip out west. Easy to access lots of great hikes in the area. Restaurants both on site and in the surrounding mountain resort village. Right at the base of the ski lifts. Garage parking (for a fee) or free parking down the road (with permit from hotel). No complaints. Can’t wait to visit again.
