Grand Hyatt Muscat

Having informed that the pool was closed. I still believed that the Hyatt still had a lot to offer. I was disappointed. Not only is the pool unavailable the hotel ground is also under construction with all the noise one can imagine. The upgraded room(251) is dated. Though it has a partial view of the ocean, the fences, the old parking lot and dead palm trees make it more depressing. My three-star rating comes from the friendliness and the willingness to help from all staff.

I booked a little getaway with my son. Hotel is rated as 5 star featuring a picture of a gorgeous swimming pool and beach access. This is a lie! The hotel is one massive building side! There is no access to the facilities, no outdoor area, no swimming pool and hotel rooms have terrible view. Further more hotels normally have extra facilities like shops, spa, salons, children play area, computer areas etc Apart from the gym there is nothing else to do in a hotel! The restaurant opens after 8pm so if you are hungry the only option is room service or to go out in a taxi which ofcourse you have to pay for. Staff was really helpful however that does not fix the fact that higher management promotes this on the other platforms as fully functional hotel, charging the same amount as it is a fully functional hotel yet it is not! Due to this we left Oman earlier and while experience was not only expensive but very disappointing!

Despite their ongoing refurbishmnet the room facilities staff and overall ambience of the hotel was lovely, enhanced by the wonderfulstaff and service we received. In particular the Breakfast , Club room, Concierge & reception staff went out of their way to help. Room cleanliness was immaculate too.

Grand Hayatt is a good hotel with many advantages. Rooms are clean and spacious and the staff is friendly and helpful. During my stay hotel was being refurbished and the pool was not available. Otherwise it was a good hotel with quality service.

It was a short stay but very comfortable and excellent service from staff with smile. Close to beach and also many restaurants near by and within the property. There are some refurbishment work in progress however it didn’t impact my stay. Overall a very good stay!
