Reviews for Naxian Collection Luxury Villas & Suites

Priced way too high for this "Luxury Villas and Suites" complex

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 months ago

It might have been a luxury when it was built some years ago. The living room has a concrete bench with two pillows on each side. There are no cushions, so sit on the concrete seat if you want to watch TV. The place needs updating, especially the dining table. There is only one port in the bedroom to charge your devices. The shower/steam room needs updating because steam is wearing down the shower floor. The phone never worked. We walked to the front desk to resolve any issues. The toilet stopper needed repair; water continuously ran unless you giggled it. I gave it a three instead of a two because the breakfast and the person behind the counter were great. When they found out we would not make breakfast because of a tour we had, they put the buffet out 30 minutes earlier so we could eat. Though unable to resolve all the issues, the on-duty staff responded and showed genuine concern. We got some compensation for the issues we dealt with through a lengthy discussion at checkout. What is most frustrating is that this hotel did not have a manager to talk to at prime checkout time. The person checking you out “has no authority” to deal with issues. I don't understand why you would not have a manager on duty during the morning check-out times. Because I pushed the issue, a manager called and showed up in about 20 minutes. This wait put our schedule behind.

Nice staff, great views

Nice location not on the water but walkable to Agios Prokopios. They can arrange a car for you. Breakfast was great. We had dinner the grilled octopus was delicious. They have an extensive bar, especially for whiskey and bourbon lovers. We had a share pool, which we had all to ourselves. Only issue was our coffee maker was broken and had water in it, that I cleaned out to find out it didn’t work. Would recommend.

Beware. Some rooms not worth the price at all.

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 5 months ago

We had reserved a room for 6 nights but left after 1 day: I had totally overlooked one tiny detail in the room presentation … “semi-shared” pool. So we were basically sharing our unit’s pool with our next door neighbors. If you swam 4 meters to the other end of the pool you’d be facing their own door, window and small patio. The pool being right off our 2 doors. Not at all the privacy and quiet that we were imagining upon reserving, reassured by the 650 EUR night rate. We basically felt besieged in our own room (which was large and came with a hip, modern design and super comfy bedding). Also, the house we were in also came, alongside our “pool-sharers”, with noises from another unit above: very poor noise insulation. After we complained, the hotel owner (whom we never met although I’m pretty sure he was sitting on the bar’s sofa when we left), proposed a deal (via the very polite manager) which we took, but averaging out the hefty total amount this was (easily) the most expensive hotel night I ever paid for (far above Maldivian levels). As for the view, yes we saw the sea in the distance but there was also another hotel unit smack in the middle of it, below ours (see pic). Friendly staff, delicious fresh and light food but again, not at all what we had in mind and absolutely not worth the price. You’ll be fine if you reserve full villas, but they’re quite close to one another, do expect noise from your neighbors. This being July in Greece, we felt very lucky to find another accommodation with a real, unobstructed seaview. And 0 noise. And a pool fully to ourselves. But I regret my money bitterly and this sad saga perturbed our vacation and very much dented my trust in Small Luxury Hotel offerings.

Great service

Hotel is beautiful. The service is top notch. However, you need to take a taxi everywhere. If accommodating. ooking g for a relaxing time this is the place to be. Good liquor selection and a 20 to 30 walk to the beach. Their on call taxi driver Petro is the best and very informative accomdating. Their tour guide Costas is extremely knowledgeable and helpful and will greet you with a smile. I'm forgetting his name but the waiter is the most humble and gracious man I've met my entire trip.

Not a luxury hotel

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed October 15, 2023

This is not a luxury hotel as advertised. The shower had mold all over the floor. The chair in the bedroom was peeling and was getting all over my clothes. The oven has no door on it. The linens need to be updated. Do not stay here!

The Naxian Collection is a breathtaking array of luxury villas and suites, with a difference...
Each villa is carefully built with its own private pool, stark marble interiors and magnificent views looking out across to the Aegean sea and neighbouring towns.
The location is perfect, being only 700m from the famous beach of St Prokopios and only a short trip into the picturesque old town.
It is very easy to spend lazy days by the pool and on your private terrace, or enjoy a relaxing hour or two being pampered by the local masseur inside the privacy of your own villa.
This is definitely the place to stay if you are looking to savour the local and organic gastronomic delights that fruitful Naxos has to offer - the resident chef is always on hand to prepare a hearty breakfast, lunch or supper.
Also, be sure to get a peak into the owner's bountiful wine cellar, which will guarantee to get any wine connoisseur's heart racing!
It is easy to see the pure passion and love that is behind this family run business, which ensures a home-style welcome but in a luxury environment.

The luxurious 4-star Naxian Collection is the place to stay, with spacious villas and suites, stylish white marble interiors, jacuzzis, private pools and expansive terraces overlooking the sea. The owner's wife, Maria, a cooking teacher, offers culinary classes in a mountain setting for those who want to take the regional gastronomy home.
Take a boat excursion to Schinoussa, the small island frequented by wealthy ship owners, to swim, lunch and loll with the fabulous. With a lively waterfront dotted with cafes and tavernas, an ancient town with a duke's palace and castle, the Temple of Apollo, pearly white beaches like Plaka and St. Prokopios, - Naxos is an island worth visiting.
