Moon Dance Villas

Just got back from a 2 week stay at Idle Awhile Villas. First week was the 5 bedroom Palm villa and the 2nd week was the 4 bedroom Almond villa. Here’s my review on this epic property: The Villas: Both villas were amazing but my preference would be the Almond. The outdoor space to hang out was magical, you could see the ocean from everywhere in the house and the pool table was a nice touch. The palm worked well for us for the first week as we had our kids with us, and it’s the most shaded villa on the property. For those wondering, the Palm (5 bedroom), Almond (4 bedroom), Noseworthy (3 bedroom) and Cottonwood (5 bedroom) are all on the beach, with the Palm slightly set back in the shade a bit. The 2 and 1 bedroom villas are behind. All very close to the beach, but I wasn’t sure the logistics before I went so thought this may be helpful. The villas are luxurious, modern, comfortable. AC in the bedrooms and they’re all great sizes (Palm rooms are much bigger by and large than Almond). In terms of making it better, I’d say more consistent water pressure would be nice. Not a dealbreaker though. Food: This was, we all agreed, the best food we’d ever had in the Caribbean (we’ve been 20+ times). Just fantastic all around, and so consistent. Shoutout to our amazing chef, Austin. Over 13 days, every single thing he made was delicious. From garlic shrimp, jerk chicken, great sides, surprisingly superb chicken noodle soup (who would’ve thought!), everything was unbelievable. Breakfast too. Just outstanding and we never were bored or tired of the food, which is my common complaint after 1 week at a big box resort. 10/10 on the food front! Was also great we could ask for snacks/fruit to be left in the fridge after they left, which is harder to do at big box resorts. Service: Service was overall very excellent. Carlton, our butler, did a great job, especially with our kids constant requests for things in the first week. You’d give him some directions like bring us fruit smoothies, and he’d be there at the right time each day. I do think we could get more out of the service by being more communicative - that’s on us, not Carlton. In the future, I’d ask for more check ins from him. But I would 100% request both Carlton and Austin again. Beach: This is probably the best part, somehow of the Idle Awhile villas. If you’ve never been to 7 mile beach, it’s one of the most magical places on the face of the earth. White sand beaches, calm water, no seaweed, warm bath tub like temps. And idle awhile has the best beach location on 7 mile - wide, private, not busy. The sunsets over the water are just perfect and create a must see activity every day for you. Overall, to say id recommend Idle Awhile villas would be an understatement. It’s the best resort I’ve ever been to in the Caribbean and I’ve travelled to some luxurious places (especially in St Lucia). We’re currently booking again for next year and I can confidently say we’ll be coming back year after year. It’s expensive for sure, but there’s a great reason it’s ranked as the #1 hotel in Jamaica on trip advisor. Kudos to Xavier and the whole team (special shout to Shavel) for creating a best in class Caribbean destination that has no equal. 100/10 would recommend.

First let me say hope all are well after Beryl. My family of 4 stayed at the Almond Villa for a week. It was more than expected. Rian our butler is top notch He ensured we had everything we needed during our stay. From coolers on the beach . exchanging money and shopping. booking our excursions Our cook was Robert and we ate better food than any restuarant in Negril. We had oxtail,jerk chicken,ackee and saltfish with callaloo and so much more. With their smile everyday. Always ask for Rian and Robert. Anthony the life guard showed us how to ride the hobbicat and ensured we were able to relax on beach. Dale the pool guy kept our pool sparkling clean everyday. Manny kept the plants and grounds always looking good and Shanesia cleaned our villa daily and always had extra towels. Mr.Xavier Roach the GM stopped by frequently to ensure all was good. Wow wow wow! this place is beyond amazing! service was outstanding, the villa was so great for our four kids and two adults and we were just a few few feet from the ocean looking out to it from our dining table everyday. what a wonderful place to stay and enjoy time! definitely recommend!

We have stayed at the beach property before and that was amazing. This time we stayed at The Villas and. That just blew us away. Our butler Wendy and our chef Keita were absolutely incredible We highly recommend requesting them. Wendy felt like part of the family instantly and Keita is a masterful chef with ideas when it comes to preparing a menu. Wendy will make sure that you are well takin care of rhat that you want for nothing. We were absolutely amazed by the property at Idle Awile The Villas. The stunning beachfront location provided us with breathtaking views every morning. The villa itself was luxurious and spacious, with stylish decor and all the amenities we could ask for. The private pool was a definite highlight, offering the perfect place to relax and soak up the sun. The attention to detail in every aspect of the property was evident, from the well-maintained gardens to the comfortable outdoor seating areas. It truly felt like a paradise getaway.

We have visited Jamaica, many times and this is absolutely the best place we’ve stayed. It’s beautiful. It’s comfortable, the beach is absolutely absolutely magnificent. The room was spacious, large, clean, well laid out. Most importantly the service is out of this world. Austin, our chef, Was a fabulous cook who made exquisite meals every day. I can’t say enough about the excellence of his work and the pleasure of his company. Leona, our butler, was equally excellent. We felt incredibly well cared for. It took about an hour to go from traveling to total relaxation, which lasted the entire vacation. Will be going back next year. You should, too.
