Sandy Haven Resort

Positives - clean big rooms and big balcony. Small hotel so walk from rooms to beach is short. Getting a beach chair is no issue. Friendly staff. Simply outstanding water and 7 mile beach location. Cons - a bit rundown, decking needs replacing. Day beds are dirty and don't look like they have been used in a long time. Continental breakfast is a small assortment of fruit and 1 1/2 slices of toast. Thanks god the coffee was good. On the whole it was a wonderful stay.

The room is very spacious. From reading previous reviews, the hot tub has been broken for a long time, it was not working during our stay. the pool was dirty. The fridge in the room never was cold, which was another common thing I had read in the reviews that it commonly didn’t work. Breakfast at the sandy haven is mediocre. You are offered a continental breakfast, which is a small plate of fruit and toast. They also offer mimosas, but only had champagne one day of our stay. We didn’t spend much time at this resort. We had friends staying next door at coco la palm, we spent most of our time in their chairs and using their hot tub. The drinks at the bar of shandy haven are expensive. The sandy haven beach isn’t very big. If you just want a room to sleep in and find a different beach this place is perfect for just going to sleep. I suggest finding a friend at cocolapalm and hanging out on their beach.

Amazing place for our girls getaway. From the time we made our reservation til the day we checked out, Rohan took care of us like family. He arranged our transportation to and from the airport and to anywhere we wanted to go. All our drivers were great. Check in was a breeze - with a complimentary Rum Punch, of course! Rooms and bathrooms are spacious and clean. Good water pressure and water was always hot. The comp breakfast is great coffee, fruit, juice and a mimosa. Plenty for us to start our day of total relaxation. Raphael and Pops had our chairs set up every morning and was there for anything we needed. The staff keeps the grounds and beach area clean and welcoming. We turned their Valentine’s Day dinner on the beach into Galetine’s Day and had a delicious dinner! We had relatively no issues with Internet the 5 days we were there. The only issue I had was my fault. I have really thick hair and should have taken my hair dryer. The ones they supply are not made for my hair… We will return soon! Make your reservation today!

The staff was friendly and great. Room was very clean. We had a great shower with very hot water, although others there at same time had only cool water. “Pops” is great and will help with any requests. Beach lifeguard/ security can take care of you as well. Perfect location. Continental breakfast could improve. Grounds are beautifully maintained. There are areas that were not in use that could make the place better ( outdoor patio at Bongos restaurant and Beach restaurant.). They could draw more people by adding a happy hour at Beach bar. We would return!

Advertised as a Luxury Boutique Hotel is a reference to the rooms which were very nice and clean, well appointed with all advertised in-room amenities. Unfortunately we went without hot water in the shower for the full week we were there though other mechanical issues were quickly addressed. Real stars were the cleaning staff who work hard to maintain the rooms in such good condition. Staff generally were friendly. Continental breakfast included is ok, some cut fruit, coffee, juice and two slices of toast. Had better selection at Cocoa Palm next door for $5USD where we ate several times. Beach bar is poorly stocked and lacked basics like mix. No sports equipment but "Pops" can hook you up with another vendor. Outside of the room, no extras. Three stars.
