Montpelier is pure laid-back chic. A 300 year-old sugar plantation that now happily embraces effortless luxury. The rooms all offer stunning views of sea or garden and the private beach is complete with hammocks, cabanas and a beach bar. The poolside restaurant Indigo lets you kick back and feel the island rhythm. Restaurant 750 has stunning views of St Kitts and offers fine dining.

Beautiful, peaceful and oh so comfortable without being pretentious. The food was so fresh and well prepared. The drinks prepared by Caddy or “G” were wonderful and refreshing. A large refreshing swimming pool was available to help us cool down. We will be back! .

I feel that Montpelier is a place where I leave all my stresses and worries behind and enjoy the beautiful surroundings, the pool and beach and most of all -- the wonderful staff. For me, it is a great place to do nothing -- swim, read, take a walk, have a great meal or cocktail (thanks Kaddy!) We stayed in a Plantation Room with a gorgeous view of the foothills of Nevis and the soothing blue of the Caribbean sea. We did get and and about of Nevis which is a great island to explore but I always enjoyed returning with a refreshing dip in the pool and the soothing cooling breezes. If you are craving peace, relaxation and an escape from a busy world, you will enjoy Montpelier.

After so many good reviews I feel it is my obligation to add some not too biased pros and cons Positive: - The premises and main area and pool are lovely and lush green. I suspect this first impression is the main reason for some 5 star reviews - The owner is here sometimes to chat with quests. The manager is very friendly. The guys at the bar, beach and garden are fun - The room size is decent (though the rooms are quite tired and towels/sheets stained) - The food is more or less OK (unless you are spoiled by good big city chefs) Negative: - This is not a luxury hotel. Please do not expect a Four Seasons experience. You get what you pay for - The beach is a 20 minutes drive from the hotel and it is very basic, so be warned - The staff is only polite and friendly until something breaks. Do not expect help and solutions if something does not work - Card payments do not work properly. Settle your bill the night before checking out so that you do not miss transfer to the airport - No electricity from time to time I hope this helps. As always, managing expectations is key. The trouble with this place is that one starts their experience with the beautiful premises and ends with dripping shower and indifferent farewell at reception…

We were lucky enough to have just returned from a five night stay at the gorgeous Montpelier resort, celebrating our one year anniversary. Right from the start, Sade and Asheena made sure we didn’t have to worry about being delayed a few days because of a storm in Miami, they pushed back our reservation no problem and were so accommodating. From the moment we finally arrived after a long journey, we were greeted by Mandy, who swept us into our stunning Garden suite, and into the sugar mill for a delicious and private anniversary dinner. Truly a magical experience from the start. Every person at Montpelier, from the lovely women at breakfast to the bartenders in the evening, make you feel so welcome and grateful. Abby, the general manager, goes above and beyond in every way and made sure our stay was perfect down to the last detail. On the night of our true anniversary, Asheena, Mandy, and Sade spent hours setting up a surprise for my wife while we were out to dinner; a beautiful candlelight message and rose petal display in our room, complete with cold champagne. If you pictured a fairytale tropical paradise, walk around Montpelier as the sun goes down and the landscape twinkles around you. A dream come true in every way. My wife and I are not organized people, yet every morning we would on a whim decide we wanted to do some excursion and within minutes a taxi was ready and an experience was booked by someone at the front desk. Truly everyone went beyond anything we’ve experienced traveling anywhere in the world. Now on to Champs, the taxi service who took us everywhere (he doesn’t have his own google review) Experiencing Nevis to the fullest was made possible with Champs as our trusted friend and taxi guide. He was the kindest, most wonderful person to meet and made our stay so special. We believe he personifies everything wonderful about this incredible island. He even came to our rescue when my wife fell ill at dinner one night. We miss him already and look forward to coming back and having the privilege of being driven by him.

Absolutely beautiful hotel. Staff are lovely and go out of their way to ensure you enjoy your stay. Cottages are spacious and grounds are stunning. Seeing families of monkeys playing in the sun was a highlight first me. Food tasty and fairly priced. Hope to stay again and for longer next time

A fantastic experience. The Montpelier Plantation was not only beautiful, quiet and peaceful, but the staff was absolutely wonderful. It was probably the most relaxing getway I have ever had -- thanks to the great staff. If total relaxation is what you are looking for, Monpelier Plantation is the destination.

The best decision we made in planning our honeymoon was choosing to stay at Montpelier Plantation Inn in Nevis. It was the best vacation we've ever taken and exceeded our every expectation!
