Reviews for W New Orleans - French Quarter

Hotel great, restaurant not too good

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

The hotel was nice, very well appointed, clean and modern. The staff in the hotel were accommodating. However, my experience in the restaurant was not great. The food was well prepared, but not served hot. The waitstaff was not at all attentive. One young woman who happened to be my server was way too busy visiting with another female staffer to even notice that I was there. The prices were ridiculously high.

Great hotel in a great location

Highly recommend this hotel. Conveniently located in the French quarter. The front desk staff are fantastic and very customer service oriented. We weee upgraded to a room in the carriage house. It has a patio and despite being next to the pool it was very quiet. Breakfasts were excellent and we would have a drink at the bar each day. The pool is heated which as a bonus. Special shout out to Keneshia at the front desk. Just a wonderful customer service oriented person.

Should not have the 'W' name on this property!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

This hotel should not have the 'W' name on it. It doesn't even feel like a hotel. The tiny, non-existent lobby sets the mood. It's more like a motel. There's no where to sit in relax on the property unless you are in the restaurant. You'll notice a rundown tiny motel looking pool in the middle of the hotel. The rooms are extremely small...and I mean small, with very low ceilings and no drawers whatsoever to put your clothes in. Other than a tiny closet with no shelves, there is no place to unpack your clothes. Also, when the A/C ran it smelled like mildew and mold in the room. It was not air that you wanted to breathe in. We called the front desk to complain, but they offered no solutions other than letting us leave early, which we did! We actually checked out of the hotel and went to another one that was actually half the price and much, much newer, cleaner, roomier and what you would have expected from the W, which they were charging over $600/night. Do yourself a favor and don't stay here!

Fantastic Stay

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

The room was bigger than expected and the location is a fantastic with it being in the French quarter. Staff are fantastic and all so welcoming. The restaurant staff in particular were amazing when we had easily some of the best breakfast ever. If you want somewhere special in NOLA then I'd recommend here

Great hotel. The beds were great. The bar was wonderful! Paul made everyday for us amazing. Can’t wait for him to move to Kansas. 😉 Give that man a raise and a paid vacation. Can’t wait to come back for a new adventure! Thanks for all of the accommodations!
