Reviews for Aliz Hotel Times Square

Just a quick solo trip — Very happy with my stay :)

I booked this hotel last minute so I could spend an extra day in new york after getting off a cruise. I booked with points and only ended up having to pay the $35 nightly fee NYC has so I already felt like I was getting a great deal. Upon check in I was given two vouchers for a drink at the bar and a $25 credit to use at their restaurant, which came in handy because it was cold and I really wasn’t looking forward to finding a place to eat outside of the hotel. The room I booked was small but it had everything I needed. The plush robe in the room was so nice, there were two bottles of water chilling in the mini fridge when I arrived, there was a garment steamer in the room, and kuerig coffee maker. My only con is that I couldn’t get the casting to work on the tv because the instructions weren’t matching up with the app they say to download. No biggie, didn’t ruin my trip and I had a great stay! It was also freezing out when I went and I had a decent amount of time to wait between check out and when my bus left. I was so happy when I found out they had a spacious lounge area (doubles as the restaurant) where I could wait and not feel like I was taking up too much space for five hours. Between the location and the amenities, I hope I get to stay here again in the future the next time I visit the city!

February break!!

We stayed at the Aliz for 4 nights. It was a great location, room was clean with no issues. The welcome cocktails and token were a really nice gesture. Only took 2 days for the security deposit to be returned. One slight issue is that there isn't a lot of storage for clothing for 2 people - but it is new york and space is limited and didn't impact on our trip.

Avoid - steal your security deposit then ignore you!

I can’t actually fault the location or the cleanliness of this hotel but I highly advise no one to stay here! We arrived home early December and were told by reception our security deposit of almost £300 (between 2 rooms) would be refunded within 7-10 days and we are still waiting!!! I have contacted them through the contact page, through email, tried to call and all just totally ignored!!! My family and I paid more than enough to stay at the hotel and in the restaurant and this is disgraceful and theft!!! I have now taken this up with the fraud department at my bank but unless you want to add another £150 to the cost or this hotel then do not stay here!!

Weekend getaway

Staff very friendly and accommodating. Lattice (spelling) greeted us with a smile, understood my needs, very accommodating. Brandon- very helpful. I was on crutches and he ensured I received the scooter I rented. Zac was helpful with bags. One complaint- the doors are super heavy and needed assistance getting in. No wall plate to open doors (or I didn’t see one). Would recommend and visit again not on crutches.

AVOID AT ALL COST

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 5 days ago

We arrived on a cold Saturday afternoon. Our daughter and two granddaughters all tired after a long trip from UK were allocated their room. We, as grandparents (both over 75yo) were told our room was cancelled, no reason given. So we had to walk the streets of New York to find a hotel with a spare room. Fortunately we did and it turned out, in a friendly and helpful one too. Our granddaughter left a picture in her room when they left. Despite sending money, envelopes and shipping labels, the house manager did nothing to help. Having already spent $60+ dollars o labels and envelopes and sent cash, nothing forthcoming Eventually she told us to send shipping labels for DHL. Fortunately a friend was visiting New York and kindly offered to collect the picture, which she did. So for ll of our outlay and endless messaging, we go the $15 picture back to our granddaughters delight. My advice is AVOID THIS HOTEL at all cost. The staff were unfriendly, unhelpful and only keen to make money, not give service. Our daughter and children did not enjoy their stay as the room was not the cleanest and if they wanted anything, water, coffee etc. they were going to be additionally charged.
