We stayed here for a night, 12/14-12/15. On 12/15 before checking out (Our check out time was 11:30AM), we went out first then came back around 1020am. When we were waiting to go up, the elevator opened and the staff have all our bags and luggages. We did not request for our luggages because clearly we are out and we’re still coming back to grab them. He told us that “someone called and asked for our things”, we said we did not make any phone calls and asked for our things. He pointed us to the receptionist. We told the receptionist about our concern and he was very rude. He was sarcastic and was not looking at us the entire time. My boyfriend told him we did not call for our bags to be brought down. He said “Well someone between you two called. Are you sure it’s not her?” We were together so clearly we would know if someone made the phonecall. My boyfriend told him nicely that “We’re together and she did not make the call”. Mind you we already told him that no one between us made any phone calls so it was stupid of him to ask us and point fingers at us. He said “We get phone calls all the time so we don’t know”. My bf still asked in a nice way “You did not ask the name and verify who it is before you said okay to being our things down?”. He replied “No we don’t do that”. So, there it is everyone. They don’t care about your belongings. They won’t even protect your stuff and just randomly okay a phone call without verifying. We asked to talk to the Manager because this is scary and upsetting. We travel a lot and stays at Hyatt almost all the time since we are Hyatt members, so this is the first time we ever experienced this. What if someone else claimed our luggages which happens in other countries?! We were so close to contacting our lawyer because the staff is very awful. At least the manager was accommodating and well trained in dealing with customers. Clearly the receptionist is not trained in hospitality management. We are in the process of submitting a complain with Hyatt because our rights are clearly violated. They took our bags and luggages and touched our things without our consent. If this is not resolved, we will lawyer up

My husband and I spent eight (8) wonderful nights at the Gild Hall. Our stay from beginning to end was memorable. The location is perfect for anyone wanting to be located in the Financial District or wanting to enjoy the vibrance of the City, but not want to step out their hotel door into all that hustle. You can hop the subway, call an uber, or even continuously ask for cabs to be called to reasonably go anywhere. The front desk is more than happy to call a taxi for you. Due to my husband's need to see as much as possible, we cabbed it everywhere. There is also a restaurant within the lobby, Felice, that is beyond delicious. We actually broke the cardinal rules of eating somewhere more than once and (for shame) ordering the lasagna three times. It was soooo good. Ordered it to our room one rainy day. When we arrived, we were greeted by the doorman as he helped get our luggage from the taxi and made sure we were being checked in. Jose and Aron are the best! The lobby has warm wood, comfortable leather seating, and, if you are lucky, a visiting puppy dog! The young man checking us in offered us sparkling wine and water (they will give you small bottles of water every single time you ask!) Our check in was as smooth as silk. Our room and bathroom were sparkling clean. We are talking super clean. The refrigerator was stocked with snacks and drinks. Our room was quiet and perfect for when it was pouring rain, and for every other day. Little helpful hint: there is a glass wall for the bathroom. All you have to do is pull the curtain in front of the door to obtain privacy and keep from being blinded during the night by the light. As a female that sometimes travels alone, it also allows you to see into your room if you thought you heard someone. It is a safety perk. Speaking of safe, this hotel is in a very safe location. That's a big thing for my family. One thing I really appreciated was that everyone at the front area was as excited about our adventures as we were! They wanted to hear about where the guests went and what they could do to make their stay more enjoyable. Everyone we came in contact with was warm and inviting; it was like we visited the hotel all the time and they were happy we were back. Absolutely stay here. Let's give a shout out to Robert, the manager. He and his team work so well together that you can see the respect that they give one another.

Can’t speak more highly about my stay here, the service I received, and the fantastic location in manhattan. Robert, the Assistant Director of Guest Experience really made our stay fantastic with superb recommendations and went above and beyond to make sure we were well taken care of our entire week here, and the rest of the staff also was top notch. Can’t wait to return!

Amazing beds. Try to get the 3rd floor bc the ceilings are the highest there. Rooms are Ny small but the nice bathrooms, great restaurant, solid gym, and amazing staff all make this a great hotel option for those who want to be in the financial district or close to EWR. I stayed here during the Thanksgiving week to see the in laws and it was perfect. I was able to work before the holiday and play afterwards. Hotel restaurant is sexy, tasty and fun. Hotel manager is the best I’ve ever come across and I travel 50-75 days a year. I wil be back.
