Gotham Hotel

This hotel has excellent staff! Front to back / top to bottom / start to finish! Convenient location near 5th Avenue and about a 10-to-15-minute walk to Times Square. The room was clean, and the size was decent, but the balcony was of no use as it only had a view of a brick wall with no windows and loud a/c units between the buildings. I would take a sound machine. The cost was a bit expensive for a standard room, but it is NYC so expected. I would recommend this hotel and again the staff were exceptional!

Not good value. Expensive hotel. First, the good . Decent position near 5th Avenue and a 10 minute walk to Times square. Good staff and exceptionaly comfy bed. Decent size room. Now the bad. Paid extra for a balcony that was of no use as it only had a view of a brick wall with no windows. Hotel with 24 floors and only 2 lifts, one of which was out of order, which caused long waits. We were here for 2 nights. The lift only worked the first night only. Out of service all yesterday and today. Very dissapointing for what we paid.

After every stay at the Gotham, I promise to write a review. Then I come home, and life gets busy. It is not a bad thing I forget because that only means I have nothing to complain about. Gotham is now our only choice when heading into the Big Apple. We visit NYC at least 5-9 times a year, and we stay there. So much so, we have made the Gotham our "hotel of choice" for our business clients. We prefer the Suite with a balcony, and a nice outdoor ambiance for a cocktail before a concert, (many Billy Joel concerts) a Broadway show, a Holiday weekend or Sporting event like a NY Yankee Game or NCAA basketball game at MSG. The room is spacious and clean, and the restaurant downstairs serves great food and cocktails. Adel Baizhanova is our gracious host at the front desk, and always recognizes my husband's voice when making a reservation and always says, "welcome back" when I enter the lobby. Ilda from reception always reassured us that she would try to accommodate our early check-in's or late departures, and we keep us informed up to the time we set foot in the city that never sleeps. Everything clean, the Roomservice is perfect, the employees are very nice. The View from the Balcony is amazing, you are pretty close to the Time Square and to the one vanderbilt. For a even better View on the City there is a Balcony for everyone on the 23th Floor. In one Word it‘s Perfect!

Wonderful trip as a couple. The Gotham’s location was perfect for us to explore the city. Close enough to Times square, Broadway and Rockefeller center to do the touristy stuff but also just a quick uber or cab from all the manhattan neighborhoods. A small issue with the door to our room when we arrived was taken care of quickley and the staff continued to check in throughout our stay. The room was clean, comfortable and modern. The shsred balcony was a wonderful addition for us to have a snack and view the city to recharge. The perfect experience for a couple on a quick get away.
