Reviews for IBEROSTAR 70 Park Avenue Hotel

Very nice staff and location but the building itself is tired and in need of renovation.

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

The positives were that the staff at reception and door were friendly and professional and the central location is great. The negatives are that the hotel is quite tired, has very unusual door locking mechanisms (that cannot be locked from inside the room) and the bathroom was so small you cannot even sit on the toilet properly because it is so close to the side wall. I had to run my taps for multiple minutes before the water was hot. This place is probably a 3.5 star hotel.

Great October Visit

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

I had a great stay at the hotel. I was there for a business trip. The room was nice and clean. The staff was excellent - the front desk, doormen, folks who clean the rooms were very helpful and pleasant. They were very helpful also when I needed a slight late check out. Internet connection, heating/AC systems, hot water was great. Great location. Walkable to most places I needed to go not to mention the LIRR service into Grand Central made it super easy to get to and from airport. Two things to note - there isn't a restaurant on site but plenty around (including a Starbucks a half a block away for the Starbs junkies :-)). For me, I never eat in the hotel when I come to NYC too many great options to do that. The hotel is clean safe etc but a bit "vintage". So the walls are sort of thin you can hear people closing doors, talking. However, that never affected my sleep. In fact, I had several great nights of sleep here. That aside, I highly recommend the hotel will return.

Excellent Trip

I had a wonderful stay at the hotel. I was there for a business trip. The room was nice and clean. The fitness center was good. The staff was excellent. Victorio, Yenny and Lucy helped with our reservations and were excellent to deal with. I highly recommend the hotel and I am planning on returning.

Horrifying, avoid at all costs

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

HORRIFYING! Booked with a third party and the hotel gave me a room without a bed…just a pullout couch! Paid $300 and no bed. Unreal. Management was incredulous that I wouldn’t accept the room. Check out the pics if you don’t believe me. Avoid this place at all costs!

Avoid if you can

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

This has been one of the worst hotel stays I have ever had starting with a not-so clean room, broken refrigerator that required them to come fix multiple times, they also disconnected the water for several hours with almost no notice which caused me issues due to a medical condition, the water disconnecting caused the bathroom to flood because the sink was not close all the way. The hotel's apology was to send a bottle of wine (I don't drink). Horrible experience overall and I recommend avoiding. I feel like I wasted the points I used to book the hotel on a bad experience.
