Simply the best hotel in NYC

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

This hotel is phenomenal. I travel to NYC frequently with work and decided to take my wife for her birthday along with my 9 month old son, Harry. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. The property is in prime location and immaculate. We had a one bedroom Empire suite and it was tough to leave as it was so amazingly equipped. Shout out to Wallace and Annaeke at the Langham Club each morning. Two of the loveliest people who made my son feel so special. We genuinely felt sad saying goodbye to them. Sarah in reservations also made us feel incredibly special as did all of the front desk staff. We will 100% return next year. Bravo Langham 10/10.

An Oasis in midtown Manhattan, great for a family vacation. Outstanding customer service. Club Ambassador Access!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

DO NOT HESITATE TO STAY HERE! I spent multiple hours checking reviews of hotels in the area. Many good and long reviews here, summary of our pearls of wisdom "bullet point style" for dads out there planning a family vacation: 1. CALL THE HOTEL TO BOOK DIRECTLY! You will realize soon their customer service is far beyond any other hotel experience you had before. They offered great advice and can suggest a better accommodation than the available online options. We spent 3 nights (Fri-Mon) for a quick weekend getaway and were able to get not a great but an OUTSTANDING room. 2. Get access to the LANHAM CLUB EXPERIENCE with your reservation! Opens daily from 7AM to 830 PM. Great breakfast options for ALL AGES. Omelets made to order, fresh fruit, NY bagels with delicious cream cheese, salmon, capers, French yogurt / juice, local pastries, sausage/bacon and more! Delicious coffee and tea. Grab a quick bite at lunch or dinner (many options including small club sandwiches, shrimp, humus, crackers, beer/wine/whiskey). Many families with little ones and executives as well but not overcrowded. WORTH EVERY PENNY! 3. Please get to know Mr. Florin Constantin and Mr. Ender Ozmelek at the 4TH FLOOR LANGHAM Club. Their customer service is outstanding, and they will take great care of you and your family. They are honestly great people and if you get to know them will learn many great amazing stories about NYC. All the club employees are amazing, but Mr. Constantin and Mr. Ozmelek just go far above and beyond. 4. Ask for a room with a view (high floors away from the elevator). If possible, room 2703, located in the top floor facing east (sunrises were lovely). Unobstructed views of (east) Manhattan. Please notice this is an "Executive Club Room", very spacious for Manhattan with a king bed and quite an amazing large bathroom. This truly felt more like an apartment rather than a hotel room. If you have little ones a "roll away bed" can be requested and comfortable enough for 2 small children to share (bonus, you can set up the small coach/sofa next to it to provide more space for the little ones to sleep). 5. Use the CHAT / TEXT MESSAGING system to request anything from towels, fix any issue or coordinate your departure. I used this prior to my arrival to request the rollaway bed. The staff are outstanding, not a single bad experience. The employees appear happy to work there and it truly reflects in their customer service. 6. Rooms are cleaned to a level of detail that is highly appreciated. Cords for your charges were immaculate rolled and tucked in a way it was pleasant to the eye! the cleaning staff are extremely polite and also willing to go the extra mile for customer satisfaction. 7. The concierge service can arrange transportation from any airport to the hotel. We ended up using a different company with a better deal and also with outstanding TripAdvisor reviews. Booster seats / toddler car seats were available thus we went with this option (NC Perfect Transportation). Although we did not use their local Manhattan car service, this can be reserved upon request for short trips (maybe a better option if flying solo or just as a couple). 8. Cost... Yes, it is expensive, but you get what you pay for. Some hotels in the area, just 2-3 blocks away with "less category/ 3-4 stars" had prices not so different when you take into consideration location, room size / quality, noise level and most importantly customer satisfaction. 9. The Langham is an oasis in the chaos of Manhattan, especially if you have young kids. It was great to wake up, have breakfast at the club (4th floor) and just go for a walk to Times Square, Bryant Park, Grand Central Station, the Empire state, Rockefeller center and other "tourist attractions". Come back any time to re-energize in the club while the kiddos nap and go again with your day when batteries are charged. 10. If you go to Central Park or any of their museums or the zoo, the walk from there down through 5th avenue to the hotel is quite entertaining (just about 1- 1.5 miles). This can be easily done in 20-30 minutes pending your pace. Going through the chaos, noise, traffic, hordes of people in Manhattan is quite the experience! Once you cross the doors of the hotel you will feel in an oasis of relaxation (especially if you stop by the 4th floor club to relax) Ok... so far everything good. So, was there anything bad? No real complaints, the only issue which is 100% subjective is their bed firmness. Some people love the foam style beds where you sink deep into the mattress, others like me prefer a little firmer mattress to support your spine better. We all slept great, even with the noise of NYC which although faint it is still perceptible on the 27th floor. Rooms get dark though with the thick curtains (electric) which were great. So again, just be prepared for this since some reviews brought it up. In summary. Great location, outstanding customer service, GET CLUB ACCESS, talk to people (starting with your reservation), ask for a higher floor with a view and away from the elevator. Also use their chat / text service. I honestly doubt you can find a better option in NYC. Will come back for sure and looking forward to staying in the other Langham hotels across the world!
