Other New York City luxury hotels may talk about service, but at Loews Regency New York Hotel, we’ve been living it for over 50 years. You’ll experience our special brand of relaxed sophistication when our bellman greets you with a friendly smile and our concierge calls you by name. Loews Regency New York Hotel's concierge can assist with things like theater tickets, checking exhibits at the local museum, or getting you a table at the hot new restaurant the locals can’t stop talking about.

We love this hotel! We stay here every time we come to New York. The staff is friendly and helpful. Many of them have been there for decades, and they get to know the visitors. The rooms are spacious and luxurious. We love the big bathrooms! On a recent weekend they upgraded us to a two bedroom apartment just as a courtesy because they had availability. It was a special weekend for my mom and the gesture meant a lot to us. We will continue to stay here when we visit NYC!

This is a hotel on the upper east side that you would expect to offer a high level of customer service. On the pro side it is truly a great location. There were however, several problems. Most major problem in my stay (Jan 18 2025) was that I could neither shower nor brush my teeth due to a plumbing problem and the water from the faucet being full brown (see pictures). They were not helpful in terms of service recovery, they told me to let the water run for 15 minutes- which did nothing. I had to go to my parents house and ask to use their shower. What would I have payed to stay in such a room if they advertised it accurately as a great hotel but no usable sink or shower? Not much. But they have made no offer to reimburse their substantial expense or offer a subsequent stay, or make up for it in any way. I expect more from a top notch hotel if they run into an issue like this than to tell their customers to suck it up and too bad for you. Other issues included the following: They offer valet parking but you have to let them know 30 minutes in advance to get your car. Ideally you would do this by calling from your room before getting in your shower (which is not working) but when I tried to call them - twice- they didn't pick up. So I had to go down to the lobby and ask the front desk to find the valet and ask them to bring the car around. That's annoying. They assured me they would call up to the room when the car was ready, but they didn't do that either. When I checked in I had given them my ID and credit card- but the room wasn't ready and we were told we would have to come later to get the keys. We went out to lunch and my brother (who was on the reservation) went back to the hotel before me. They did give him his key but made him put his credit card on the reservation and apparently didn't save mine, so I had to make another trip to the desk to have them swipe my card a second time, and ask them not to charge my brother. Finally, I booked through the Amex Fine Hotels program. In this program usually I have a room by noon to check in, and usually the room is upgraded one class. They were not able to accommodate either program benefit. Maybe they were full, Ok, but I mention it so you expect the same treatment when you go also.

Outstanding hotel We were made to feel so welcome and thought all of staff exceptional. I’d like to mention several. Henry who is a server and longtime employee, Robert the concierge, and Crystal In housekeeping. Kudos to your hiring staff. I wouldn’t even consider staying anywhere else.

My family and I had the most magical stay at the Loews Regency New York (December 31st through January 6th). Even from before our arrival, the Director of Services (Chris) reached out to see if we needed any special arrangements and when we would be arriving at the hotel. I had noted we reserved two rooms and were hopeful they could be connecting as we have three young children. On our flight to New York, Chris emailed me to let me know that not only were our rooms connecting they had upgraded us to two bedroom two and a half bathrooms. From that moment on I knew we had chosen the right property. Our entire stay was five stars, from check-in, to the complimentary snack in our room upon arrival, and to every Loews team member at the hotel restaurant. Every night we came back to the hotel for a beverage and countless games of Uno (card game). The Loews team was SO kind to my entire family and essentially became family to us during our 6-night stay. Thank you to the entire Loews Regency team. You are truly exceptional. I would highly recommend this property to any traveler, whether it be for work, pleasure or travel with family (including young kids).

Pros: The staff was the best part about the hotel. - they are all awesome. The elevators are fast. The rooms are large. The air/heat actually works consistent. Ability to use dining credits toward room service is great. Location is good. Cons: Dated, typical hotel food like you’d find at a Marriott, definitely do not recommend ordering a latte via room service. And the biggest of all- right now my cc has all kinds of crazy charges pending from the hotel. I prepaid for my room back in November. As of yesterday one large charge actually hit my credit card. Also the folio I received was for a nominal amount but no details just a single line item. I asked for detail and was sent my room service bill which didn’t total the charge. I kind of expected a basic bill with room charge, room service charges, then showing applied credits… I messaged back asking about the pending charges and the large charge that went through. Definitely not a “fine hotel” experience, unfortunately.
