We have been staying at The Michelangelo for years and our recent stay confirmed that the exemplary staff along with the diligent upkeep of the hotel make for a pleasant experience. Outstanding staff members are:Cesar and Teddoro, the doormen; Henry and Rajiv, the bellmen; Walther, Walter, and June, covering the front desk. We have gotten to know these people and find they are so conscientious about ensuring that the guest is taken care of with every visit.

The vibes are great, the hotel isn’t crowded and the rooms are well setup and spacious. The gym has your standard equipment, we didn’t eat at the restaurant but the coffee was good and the service was great, Henry that helped us with our bags was very nice and personable, my mom fell in love with the smiley and friendly bartender Luna and everyone we encountered was very kind, offering eye contact and a smile.

Hotel experience was spotty. Nice atmosphere, good service. Nice bar & lounge. Excellent location near theatre district, museums, and shopping. However, room left A LOT to be desired. When we checked in we were assigned a very dingy room, that had a window that did not open, nor did it have a shade. The window looked out over a sixth floor shaft - no light. Why we were given this room, I do not know, but it certainly put a damper on our stay. Plus on the hotel's web site seven rooms were featured - all with open widows and shdes, which is what we expected. FYI, we stayed three nights April 4-7

We absolutely love The Michaelangelo hotel. It is first class from the front door all the way to lights out in your room. The staff is unique, in that most of them have been there for decades, and there's a good reason why. They know what they are doing and they do it well, with a smile on their face. I'd like to single out Henry, the main bellman. He has worked there for over 35 years, and he loves his job. He treats us like his long lost best friend. And not just once, but every time we go there. He makes you feel so welcome, and he'll do anything to make your stay more comfortable. We can't wait to go back and see Henry, and all of our friends. It feels like a second home to us.
