Set against the backdrop of SoHo’s iconic cast-iron buildings and cobblestone streets, ModernHaus is a gathering place for urban travelers—and a thoughtfully designed extension of our neighborhood’s creative and dynamic spirit. Artworks from some of the most influential figures of the past century grace our walls: Alexander Calder, George Condo, Harland Miller, Jean Dubuffet, KAWS. It’s our homage to our neighborhood’s artistic past and an inspiring canvas for a thoroughly modern stay. At ModernHaus SoHo, style and substance go hand in hand. Our museum-worthy assemblage of artworks nod to our neighborhood’s storied past, while our variety of outdoor spaces give travelers the rare opportunity to float above the frenzy of the streets. Located on our second floor is Jumpin Jacks, a chic all-day eatery that transforms into an intimate lounge at night. Set out to discover what makes SoHo one of the most dynamic neighborhoods in New York City; the city’s best shopping, dining, and cultural spots are at your doorstep. Or stay closer to home, unwinding in your residential-inspired guest room, dining at the Veranda restaurant from Michelin-starred chef George Mendes, or soaking up some sun —with a side of city views—from our rooftop pool bar, Jimmy. We believe in modern luxury that builds on the strength of the community to offer an unrivaled guest experience.

ModernHaus is in a good location and has a nice lobby. The art is pleasing to see. But that's where the smiles end. I booked the penthouse city view unit on the 16th floor, #1601. The good... great view. Stunning in fact. The bad... In-room sound system was completely non-functional. For the amount of money paid, I should have my music playing, and not just on a stupid Marshall Stanmore II with basic bluetooth. Fail. The TV system interface was clunky and complicated. I wasn't able to easily connect my phone video apps to the TV. Terrible design. The TV is mounted in a built-in shelving / armoire system, but the doors wouldn't open evenly on either side, so part of the TV screen was blocked. The fit and finish of the unit was GARBAGE. Light switches no flush with their panels, electronics cables just jumbled up and strewn about behind the doors, but still visible, water knobs that were not flush and tight against the shower room wall. Pathetic and completely unacceptable. There is no coffee machine, just a Nespresso. I'm sorry but I need my 20oz coffee in the morning. Nope. Not for this penthouse guest. And when I complained about these deficiencies, NOTHING was resolved. Just an "I'm sorry". Sad. THIS is how they treat someone who paid the amount that he did for your BEST unit on the top floor with the BEST view??? I cannot recommend to any high net worth guest of New York that they should stay here. It was nowhere in the same league as another hotel with similar amenities.

I booked this last minute for a premium room, fortunately received an upgrade to the penthouse. Have to say, this was one of the most ridiculously crazy hotel rooms I've ever seen. Had I known, I would have organized a party. The penthouse had a powder room, dining room, living room, full 2 person master bath and a separate bedroom. Electric shades, Bluetooth speaker, two TVs. Crazy, like a multi-million dollar apartment. Location is great - right on the edge of Soho, walk out your door and everything is there. I'm giving the review 5 stars just because the room was so insane, but it was also a little worn and in need of maintenance (1601). Nitpicks for this price range: * The gigantic soaker bathtub does not seal correctly, so water drains after a few minutes. * The AC is super noisy, to the point that I just turned it off. * The automated blinds are a cool touch but they are actually a multi-step process that takes like 5 minutes to open and close. Controls for lights in bedroom are too far away to do from bed - kind of a buzz kill to get up to open/close. * There's some wifi audio system in the room but instructions are super complicated so I just gave up. In the age of sonos, almost a joke. Maybe there's an easier way to manage all these systems but it wasn't obvious to me at all and I'm pretty technical. The rooftop bar, Jimmy's, is pretty cool - amazing view, has a pool, etc. Def a good hangout. Bar staff is awesome and super friendly, made great drinks. For a real new yorker, it's not really a place you would go - full of tourists on their phones etc, not a "scene" but the space is amazing. They supposedly charge a cover to get up there but can't see how they would justify it. Still had a few drinks. The restaurant downstairs also looks really nice but wound up eating outside the hotel. Room service was decent. I ordered an omlette and they wound up bringing two and charging for both. Cost was covered by the room so I don't really care, but kind of weird (I still ate both).

Love the art all through the hotel! Great views, specially if you stay on a high floor (I was on 16 flr) The simple luxury and the great staff service make it a great option in Soho. You normally don't get both! Will definitely be back my next time in NYC

Overpriced for the offering but a nice hotel if they had value for money. They closed the pool and roof decks for the season but kept the prices as high as during the peak season. They should not of closed the pool and outside decks when the temperature was well over 70 F. In room AC was very noisy and blows directly and intermittently on the bed (room 1202) so that it was not easy to sleep with AC on. One of two treadmills in the fitness center was broken. So overall just an average sort of hotel with high prices - thus the mismatch.

One of the best hotels in NYC. Besides the great views and lovely rooftop, the staff was amazing. Vincent help us with our bags and Caitlin with our check in and check out. Room was pretty big for NY standards. Will definitely be back the next time I'm in NYC. Pricy, but worth it!
