Trump Hotel Central Park is exactly what you picture when you envision the Trump brand. It’s grand. It makes a statement. It’s over-the-top in its sumptuous décor, formality of service, and number of onsite perks. The Donald doesn’t stop at “good.” The onsite restaurants are by Jean-Georges Vongerichten – yes, that Jean-Georges, one of only five three Michelin-starred chefs in New York. There’s a rare-for-New-York 55-foot indoor lap pool. And the rooms, designed by Ivanka Trump during a $30 million renovation completed in 2010, start at 440 square feet. It’ll be hard not to give in to the urge to belt Frank Sinatra’s “New York, New York” at some point during your stay.

The hotel was lovely, and the room had the most amazing view. Everybody that worked there went above and beyond to be kind and helpful and accommodate any needs we had. We had an unfortunate incident of my young daughter sleepwalking out of the bedroom in the middle of the night into the elevator. I awoke to a gentleman knocking on my door with my daughter, returning her safely to me. I discussed with the staff in the morning and found out that their security team had swooped in to keep her safe. I have always appreciated the niceties that can be found at hotels like these, but I never took the time to appreciate the security that they provide. I will forever be grateful for that!

The Trump name has grown over the years to be bigger than anyone could fathom. Given this realty think of how difficult it would it be to provide beyond expected service at one of the Trump Hotels in NYC. Well Antwain Lewis who received my wife and I at the front desk yesterday proved you do not need to named Trump to understand what going beyond excellence in service is all about. He helped us correct and complete our reservation making us feel welcome, comfortable and extra special. Thank you Antwain and thank you management for having him at the front desk to receive us.

Not what I was expecting. All that glitters is not gold. I love New York, but Central Park is not the most convenient place to stay. And for the money, this hotel wasn't much better than much less expensive hotels on the east side. If you're a trump lover, you may love it. But we did not.

Say what you will about the hotel namesake's political activity, the man's an excellent hotelier. Even if all he did was to pick the right GM. Room's spacious (for New York), reasonable (for New York), and comfortable (for anywhere). Service: sterling. I'm a nobody, but they still treat me like I'm a somebody. Bed's quite comfortable, with loads of pillows. Tub's DEEP; great for soaking. TV's got cable; enough channels to keep you busy if you get bored. Finally: the spa. There are massage options and a well-stocked gym, but the saltwater pool... that's what makes this place for me. It's warm, it's large enough that you can actually swim in it. It's good stuff, if you're into swimming.

I stayed at the Trump International Hotel during Valentine's weekend. It was my first time there and I was incredibly impressed with the cleanliness of the hotel. I usually get antsy about stains, dust, bugs, water stains, etc but my room was spotless. My room was also spacious and luxurious compared to most hotels in NYC. I forgot a few things at home and hospitality was able to provide and meet all my needs. I highly recommend this hotel!!!
