We picked this hotel due to location. Was good enough for what we needed. Room was a decent size for NY. Check in was a breeze. Restaurants are not open and no room service. They tell you they have a continental breakfast in the lobby. What they had was truly laughable. You have an option of a cinnamon roll and one other item I can’t even remember. Would I stay here again? Maybe because of location but only after the hotel is fully operational.

This hotel was recently renovated and isn't quite finished. The rooms and lobby were nicely done. They are small but it is New York. I can't comment on the restaurant as that wasn't finished and for breakfast we got a free pastry and coffee. The gym was nicely done and they have these water massage beds for after workout which were a pleasant surprise. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. We really enjoyed the location and it should be very nice when done, but less of a fun W and more of just a really nice hotel.

Shout out to Gabriela and Kevin at the property who went out of their way to make our stay at the hotel and family birthday celebration memorable. I emailed the GM Christina about my wife’s birthday and she got the ball rolling Once the restaurants and bars open this year, the W Union Square will be the best hotel in NY All staff were super friendly. Gym is like an Equinox. Rooms are beautiful…especially yet bathrooms We found our new go to hotel for NYC

Overall, a good stay at the W Union Square, but still some areas for improvement. The room renovations are beautiful but some of the furniture is already starting to get dinged up. And in spite of the multimillion dollar renovation, the mini fridge looked it was circa 1995 and has not been replaced. The biggest problem during my stay was that the lock for our room stopped working and no one was able to fix it for almost an hour. My two children had to sit in the hallway for almost an hour (past their bedtime) while the engineering team struggled to get us back into our room after dinner. The rooms do not have overhead lighting which puts the rooms on the darker side. The location is (as always) fabulous. A great central location but nice and far away from the Times Square chaos. I was disappointed that the restaurants have not opened yet, but I am looking forward to trying them next time. For the most part, the front of house staff are helpful and friendly. I will definitely return and I hope the hotel will have worked out some of their post renovation kinks.

Can’t wait to return to this hotel! Enjoyed staying here on Friday, October 11. When we checked in, Sebastian was super helpful and upgraded us to an amazing suite. Although I had read reviews about the renovation work, it was even better than expected! Also talked to Talia a couple days before checking in to let her know that we were coming to visit our son. She was so nice!
