Centrally located in Midtown Manhattan, Bryant Park is a little bit of Europe in New York. The green lawns of the park are overshadowed by the New York Public Library, and all around sidewalk cafes and upscale boutiques bustle with activity. Home to weekly book and flower markets, Bryant Park is also periodically covered by white tents for New York Fashion Week. There is no more exciting place to be in all New York, and it is here that you will find the uber-hip Bryant Park Hotel.

Despite the excellent service and care we recieved and the lovely room we had - I took one star off and I will elaborate. The staff does their best despite being busy to accomodate your needs and offer suggestions for dining and getting around. Be prepared to walk and/or take subways and busses here. It is very difficult to get a cab. Granted it was during the holidays but we have been in this area before and it is largely zoned for busses and most of the cabs are full with riders who have picked them up elsewhere. The staff does try very hard to arrange a cab for you but have a back up plan just in case. The room was extremely clean and the beds were very comfortable. The bathroom was spacious and we loved the space heater. I ttook one star off because there is a privacy button you turn on to signal "do not disturb" to the staff and the button remains lit outside your door until your turn it off. We had 3 incidents where the staff ignored the privacy button completely and came into our room. One time we were out and they came in and cleaned the room despite the privacy button being turned on. We had left some valuables out and that is why we turned the button on. Thankfully nothing was taken and from then on we used and locked the room safe. The second time we were taking an afternoon nap and put the privacy button on. The staff knocked. We got up to answer but by then they had walked into the room with their "key." They asked if we needed supplies for the in room bar which was odd because we had not used one thing from the bar during our stay. The third time we had the privacy button on and the cleaning person walked in asking if we needed bathroom products. This was actually quite upsetting to use that THREE times this happened. It really is a violation and I hope the hotel reads this and will address it. Otherwise we had the best time in NY and hope to go back to visit very soon but we will think about this issue before booking again.

I can't recommend Bryant Park Hotel enough! The staff (and especially Jo and Alyssa) went above and beyond to make my birthday feel extra special. My fiance and I were taking a quick trip from Boston to see Hamilton to celebrate and staying at Bryant Park Hotel made the stay seamless, comfortable, and special. Walkable to good restaurants, great shows, and tasty nightcap at the bar in the hotel too. The beds were comfy and the robes cozy. Valet parking made all the stress of finding parking in the city fade right away. We will definitely be back and can't wait to stay at Bryant Park Hotel again - and see the welcoming staff!

We’ve had the best experience at this stunning hotel. The staff was professional, friendly and really helpful when asking questions about our holiday. The room was stunning.. extremely clean and great views. The bar downstairs is pretty special and the cocktails is highly recommend! All of the staff was constantly making sure we had everything we needed and I have to give a mention to Jo Kinsella the Irish manager she was superb.. We will be booking again and wouldnt go anywhere else! Stunning hotel in the perfect position for all the major attractions in the city! We had the best 5 days! What a city! Ans the hotel experience mad with even better

Location, the room (junior suite), cleanliness and always responsive and helpful smiling staff were all good. This was our second time here in 3 months. I haven’t stayed in other rooms so cannot comment but the one we stayed favşng Bryant Park is just perfect in terms of size and layout.

I'll start with the positives - The location is great. You can navigate around NYC on foot and see most of the must-see areas. Our room (Park View Queen Room) was nice, there were multiple windows with views of Bryant Park and the BOA winter village, during the day, our room had an ample amount of sunlight and we enjoyed that. The room itself was well-maintained, clean and aesthetically nice, featuring dark wood, bronze, and hints of dusty blue ( chair and carpet ), a marble shower and the overall bathroom floor. The bathroom has multiple windows, a shower and tub, and a decent-sized vanity space. The doorman throughout our stay, even though was different every day, remained professional, greeted and opened the door for guests. Here are the less-than-ideals that we've encountered during our stay: During check-in (December 17th), while Shannon assisted us with the entire process, we wished we received a more hospitable attitude. When we entered the elevator, we noticed it was surprisingly small, it seemed as though it would not comfortably fit 3 or more 5'10 - 6' men with luggage. When we arrived at our level, the hallway essentially has no decoration of any kind, it looked very plain and filled with the smell of sushi. The rain shower pressure was rather weak, and the cups provided for brushing your teeth were plastic, we expected glass for this level of hotel. The Celon bar next to the lobby has an unacceptably small cocktail/wine list, despite the nice Mediterranean decor and vibe. On December 18th, we wanted to visit for a drink but the bar was hosting a semi-private event for PWC, after checking out the area, we decided to leave due to the subpar drinks list and the exceptionally loud music. The thing that cost our anticipated pleasant stay was the construction. When we made the initial booking, we were not informed at all about their external construction, even when we checked in, nothing was mentioned. When we entered the room, we discovered there was scaffolding all over, extending to our bathroom windows. There were workers and I had to close the blinds to the bathroom before I can use the toilet. We booked the park view room thinking we would get unobstructed views, turns out, most of the time we had to at least have the sheer curtains down so we don't constantly make eye contact with the workers. Ideally, we would've enjoyed waking up to the beautiful view every morning, instead, we wake up to either workers yelling out for each other, looking at them sitting there taking breaks, or the obstructed park view. We've stayed at other properties where construction took place, they all notified us of it in advance and apologized for the inconvenience caused, and some even offered compensation, unfortunately, nothing from this hotel. On the eve of our checkout, we came back to a letter saying they were having ongoing construction work, but our stay was already ruined by then. If there's no construction, I assume it would've been much nicer but since that wasn't our experience, I cannot comment on that. There's plenty of room for improvement for this property, and depending on the situation we might or might not return to this hotel.
