For decades newlyweds and romantics have flocked to Niagara Falls for memorable getaways. These days they are sequestering themselves behind the doors of the Sterling Inn & Spa, the only boutique hotel to grace this epic region. Built in 1928 and once the home to Bordens Dairy, it was eventually converted into a nightclub and restaurant during the 1980s, and is now part of the Preferred Boutique portfolio and part of the Preferred Hotel Group. Its transition into a hotel started in 2005 with original architectural elements, such as the exposed ceiling beams and three-story milk-bottle entrance, incorporated into the new design. The result is a hybrid hotel combining the best of a luxury resort with the intimacy of a fine inn. Rooms tend to be spacious and thoughtfully appointed with oversize beds, roaring fireplaces, wet bars, and ample-size bathrooms equipped with raining shower heads and body jets. Suites offer not one, but two rooms with sitting areas and plush bedrooms.

This Inn is definitely a place to stay at! Staff are so friendly, accommodations are clean, breakfasts are delicious and delivered to your room. It is obvious that they are focused on detail to make your stay great!! Booking a room is easy, and check-in is efficient.

What an amazing hotel! We came to Niagara Falls to see a concert at the casino and my husband found this hotel. We were greeted warmly by a man at the front desk, and our room was enormous! There was a step up but it lights up if you come near it to avoid any tripping in the night. The bathroom was also huge, and everything was tastefully decorated. My only complaint (and it’s a minor one!) is that the sheets were like paper—crinkly and hard. Luckily of the four pillows two of them had softer cases so we were able to use those. But otherwise it was lovely. And after having eaten breakfasts in many dreary hotel lobbies, with their DIY waffle makers and wet scrambled eggs, having breakfast delivered to your room free of charge was a delight. And it was DELICIOUS—fresh croissant, personal quiche, fresh yogurt with granola, orange juice, French press coffee, tea, and apples. It was wonderful. My only regret was that we had to go to the concert and couldn’t just luxuriate in the room! Thank you for a wonderful experience.

What a beautiful hotel! The rooms and staff are top notch. I can't say enough good things about David at the front desk. He was so helpful every step of the way. Top notch! The only complaint I have is the same as most hotels in this area and that is paid parking.

Beautiful decor, large, clean rooms and plenty of free fresh coffee and infused water. We had a complementary breakfast everyday that was brought to our room at our selected time. Delicious croissants, everything was good. Prompt service when needed. We will definitely be staying here again.

Oh my goodness where do I begin? this lovely establishment deserves 10++++++ stars! I booked this hotel based on reviews and they were 100% correct! Loved the location- safe and quiet and we walked along the river every day. Navdeep was an amazing representative for this hotel - the face of the hotel! She as delightful at check in and throughout our stay! The room was very spacious and comfortable with a fireplace and amazing steam shower! We ate in the restaurant twice where Mel and Emily took such great care of us. We tried the beef carpaccio, acorn squash soup, lovely fall salad and trout! all of it was DELICIOUS and the presentation was just so perfect. We plan to travel to Niagara Falls again (from Sotuh Carolina) and will definitely stay here! Thank you for an AMAZING experience! Truly! Well done! over and over again!
