For decades newlyweds and romantics have flocked to Niagara Falls for memorable getaways. These days they are sequestering themselves behind the doors of the Sterling Inn & Spa, the only boutique hotel to grace this epic region. Built in 1928 and once the home to Bordens Dairy, it was eventually converted into a nightclub and restaurant during the 1980s, and is now part of the Preferred Boutique portfolio and part of the Preferred Hotel Group. Its transition into a hotel started in 2005 with original architectural elements, such as the exposed ceiling beams and three-story milk-bottle entrance, incorporated into the new design. The result is a hybrid hotel combining the best of a luxury resort with the intimacy of a fine inn. Rooms tend to be spacious and thoughtfully appointed with oversize beds, roaring fireplaces, wet bars, and ample-size bathrooms equipped with raining shower heads and body jets. Suites offer not one, but two rooms with sitting areas and plush bedrooms.

Oh my goodness where do I begin? this lovely establishment deserves 10++++++ stars! I booked this hotel based on reviews and they were 100% correct! Loved the location- safe and quiet and we walked along the river every day. Navdeep was an amazing representative for this hotel - the face of the hotel! She as delightful at check in and throughout our stay! The room was very spacious and comfortable with a fireplace and amazing steam shower! We ate in the restaurant twice where Mel and Emily took such great care of us. We tried the beef carpaccio, acorn squash soup, lovely fall salad and trout! all of it was DELICIOUS and the presentation was just so perfect. We plan to travel to Niagara Falls again (from Sotuh Carolina) and will definitely stay here! Thank you for an AMAZING experience! Truly! Well done! over and over again!

The room has a spa shower with several side shower heads and a waterfall shower above plus a steam shower. The room looked newly renovated and was huge. Light and bright and modern. The staff were very friendly and the breakfast that was included was better than any hotel I’ve have been to.

We've been to Niagara Falls many times. Having a room with a view of the falls was not the priority. You won't see the falls from this location! We wanted to stay somewhere that was in close proximity to all the things we needed to be close to. The Sterling Inn was a perfect choice. It's within walking distance of the main tourist spots, where you'll cross the paths of a ton of restaurants and shops. It's also super close to gas stations and fast-food spots. Starbucks is a quick walk to, as well. All staff we interacted with were professional and lovely. Upon arrival, our room was upgraded to a larger one, and we really appreciated the gesture. The very clean rooms are so lovely and modern. I didn't understand how the shower worked, but there's an information sheet in the room explaining the usage of various items in the room- keep the handle in the center for the rainshower shower head AND body jets. That same sheet provides information about the hotel's services, too. A light breakfast is included with your stay. You're provided menu cards in your room. You can select your choice of refreshment (coffee, tea, OJ), and then you're delivered a croissant, fruit, preserves, eggs, and yogurt with granola. Mimosas and a basket of baked-goods come at an extra charge. You select your preferred time of delivery on the placard and hang it outside your door before 8PM the night before. The room was fairly quiet. The only noise we heard was housekeeping doing vacuuming in the halls. We were provided maybe too many towels 😅 For toiletries, the room is stocked with: shampoo, conditioner, a bar of soap, body wash, a shower cap, a cotton balls, Q-tips, make-up remover wipes, a hair-dryer, slippers and tissues. We really enjoyed our stay. The room we booked was a great deal. We're due back in Niagara in two weeks and are so sad they've no availability for our next trip. . This place is amazing! We had a great time!

The word hospitality covers a very broad spectrum in that industry. What we experienced here at the Sterling Inn trumps everything. It's easy to get good feedback when everything runs like clockwork. However, the quality of a reception and a duty manager only comes to light when something has gone wrong with the reservations on the part of the travel agency. And that's when the professionalism behind the Sterling Inn became apparent. Our problem was solved with a lot of patience, friendliness and persistence. The rooms are worthy of a king. That was our first impression of Canada and what a positive one. Thank you very much.

Third visit here (first and second visits in June and July 2024). This used to be my favourite hotel. To be honest, we've been to Niagara falls four times this year and have already done all of the touristy things. So, this time, I really only wanted to come back to Niagara Falls to stay at this hotel because I loved it so much. However, our interaction with the lady at the front desk on October 20th afternoon was quite discouraging and distressing. We always pre-pay for the visits. There was never any issue with payment going through for those or for deposits/parking fees. She was very rude to us. Shamed us for booking the room through a third party, rather than directly through the hotel. Rather than taking the time to explain company policies for checking in, she refused to check us in and told us to come back later. We presented our credit card clearly and visibly to her, as well as ID. All she had to do was explain what was required from us as per company policy in a kind and polite manner. We felt that she shooed us away from the desk. There were other people in line in front of us and behind us. Their rooms were not ready yet, but she still checked ALL of them in. She also knew that we had stayed at the hotel before but never offered us any "welcome back", just rudely stated that "you've been here before haven't you". I don't understand the shaming for us booking through a third party. If the hotel doesn't want people to book through a third party, then it shouldn't work with these third parties and allocate rooms to them for sale. We did end up coming back later to check in around 4 pm, and David was very polite, courteous and kind to us. He offered us a "welcome back" upon learning that we had visited before. The room as usual, was beautiful and very contemporary. Breakfast in bed was delicious. The customer service provided by the staff in our past visits were beyond exceptional, so the interaction at the front desk came as a shock to us.
