Inspired by traditional Omani construction techniques using local stones, the Alila Jabal Akhdar creates a uniquely relaxing environment, from the pool to the spacious suites that look out to mesmerising views of the cliff and mountains. Within the stone exteriors, the resort’s minimalist style blends warmth and colours that reflect the region’s culture. Although an uncommon travel destination, the luxury and adventure of Oman awaits you at the Alila Jabal Akhdar.

The Alila combines what you expect from a 5 star hotel with breathtaking views on the Jabal Akhdar, from everywhere in the hotel, and an exceptional cuisine, offering 4 different menus (Omani, Indian, Asian and European). We where very satisfied with the quality and variety of the food.

Stunning location on the cliff edge overlooking the canyon at 6000ft. Breathtaking views from the infinity pool. On arrival the temperature had been 4c the day before but 4 days later 17c but lovely and warm in the cloudless sunny skies. So many photo opportunities. A lovely butterfly walk around the grounds or if more adventurous a long 3hr walk to an abandoned village and dam. A very wide menu in the Juniper Restaurant and the a la carte breakfast was excellent. Stop off at Birkat Al Mouz before heading up the mountain, the abandoned village is well worth a stop.(see picture) About 1 hr drive from Birkat al Mouz. Don’t forget you must have a 4X4 to pass the police checkpoint.

A very nice and secluded hotel but the service from the entry point to the duty manager was beyond disappointing. Almost all staff was just too arrogant and the duty manager was borderline rude to us even before we complete the check-in process.

V lovely property, attentive and friendly staffs, they even hired an astronomy background Annanut (sorry if i misspell) to do the Geology walk & stargazing. We did both (paid stargazing) and it was a fabulous experience! Cant give enough credit to the hotel and their staffs for painting the hiking trial signs so that everyone (whether Alila guests or other hotel) can easily follow! Unfortunately it was a little too cold for us in Jan to do much swimming in this beautiful infinity pool. Only steam no sauna though (and we prefer sauna over steam). Foods wise the taste was good, with huge portion. We are treehuggers so appreciate their farm to table concept. did private cliff edge dinner and the view was phenomenal! After the sunset, again it got a little too cold dining out there despite they had the fire to keep us warm. The Alila living has some very special gifts / souvenirs! Prob the most expensive bookmarks i have (and will have) ever bought. Lastly when we checked out, there were some mis-calculations on the bill but it all got sorted out Look forward to returning when the temperature is not as cold

I traveled the world and I have been to many nice places. The Alila is top 3! I keep this place in best memory. The architecture and the interior of the hotel and the room is a testament of great taste. Enjoy the beauty of the mountains, the valley, the hotel and the great staff.
