Staff were amazing and great location but for the price the food quality and prices, esp mark-up on alcohol was shocking. Also the spa is poor - on the M side at least the sauna is tiny, the jacuzzi was tepid at best and the steam room was down for maintenance. I would go back to the region, and have loved Oman, but next time I would try the new Hotel iIdigo along the rim. eg in Anantara a bottle of Trebianno was approx 40 rial - at the Crowne Plaza in Oman it was 18 ... ... ...

Anantara Resorts are high-end, our expectations were not met. Hotel management was not accessible. The rooms were clean and fine, but nothing memorable. The bathrooms in both of our guests rooms were not acceptable due to flooding in one and general set-up in the other. I would recommend experiencing this magical area of Oman but encourage others to stay in other accommodations than Anantara.

The resort is amazing. Property is impressive. The rooms overlooking the mountain offer great view. The staff is amazing (Sarhan and Hadi were great, they really went above and beyond. The only issue we had was that the room pool temperature was very low. The staff quickly changed the temperature, but it took a long time to warm-up, so the pool only had a good temperature on the last day. Even with this, I cannot but recommend this property. Great location, great food and most importantly great people!

Stayed at the Anantara Livingston in Zambia which was a much better experience in a remote setting. At Al Jabal Al Akhdar the staff were all rushed, wines on the menu aren't available and the grounds and hotel is in much need of a renovation. Felt like an average hotel, which should not be the case given how expensive it is per night.
