November stay in Buckhead

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

Upon arriving no one offered to help with our bags. The bellman were all standing outside and my husband had three suitcases to get inside (I went ahead to check in). The front desk employee asked me several times if I wanted extra points in lieu of not having housekeeping come to clean/make our bed. When I said no several times the person seemed annoyed with my response. The next day I had to call to finally get someone upstairs to clean our room. Our room wasn’t ready (no problem we arrived early). We checked our bags. When the room was ready, again no one offered to help get the luggage upstairs. Once in the room our shower did not have hot water. We did not have time to call downstairs to let them know because we needed to get ready for an event. As a diamond rewards member I will think twice about staying at the Intercontinental in Buckhead again.

Horrible management and customer service

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 days ago

Kevan Browne is one of the managers at this hotel. His customer service is terrible. He is arrogant. I was scheduled to stay at this hotel for 5 days at a time for 3 more weeks. Because of my interaction with Mr. Browne, I have canceled all of my future stays. I would like to think that his behavior and arrogance is not exemplary of this hotel, but the past two times I have stayed here, he has been the individual checking me in. I would hate to have to deal with him again, and because of that fear, I will never stay in this hotel again.

Great Experience

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 days ago

Hotel was very nice. All the employees were very nice and helpful. The beds were comfortable and fluffy. Very pleasant vibe for me and my family. The restaurant/bar was nice as well with great drinks and delicious food. Would definitely be going back and I highly recommend this hotel.

Needs some improvement.. could have been great

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 days ago

The hotel itself was beautiful and clean. I loved the room too. The restaurant/bar area was poorly managed and staffed. We were there for a conference and getting service was almost impossible. They were consistently out of glassware, champagne, etc. The bartenders appeared to be doing their best, but it was difficult when they were so overwhelmed. I was overcharged and have yet been able to resolve that. Housekeeping came very late in the day making afternoon appointments/calls difficult. Again, this may be a staffing issue. When/if they came, they did a spectacular job! Lastly, I have been unable to obtain a receipt for my stay. The function on the TV don’t work, I tried the app, chatting through the bot and calling the hotel. This has been frustrating as well. The hotel is gorgeous, and besides these items I enjoyed my stay.

The Little Things

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 days ago

We held a conference there for three days, and it was clear that the staff was not prepared for us. The restaurant had extremely slow service, and room service kept getting our order wrong. One meal the mayonaise container had already been open and was half used, the other they forgot the side salad ordered with the sandwich. The rooms are great, and the front desk service was great. It was the little things that made this 4 stars instead of 5.
