My husband and I like snorkelling and had been told we needed to visit the Maldives, hence our recent 7 night stay. But why choose Coco Bodu Hithi when there are so many islands to choose from? We wanted an island that was close enough to get to by speedboat, as I get travel sick when flying so a seaplane was not a good idea! We also wanted a house reef so we could easily snorkel at our leisure rather than needing to get a boat each time. CBH ticked both boxes. Arrival: The speedboat journey from Male to CBH took approx 35 mins. We were greeted at CBH by Nittu who welcomed us, did the registration check-in, and showed us to our villa. We were given a WhatsApp link so we could easily contact him with any queries we had. Accommodation: We booked an Island beach villa which had direct access to the beach/sea. Unfortunately parts of the beach on the island have been washed away and although there is a small wall and steps to access the sea, it did mean we didn't have a beach to lie on our sunbeds. However the upside was that our Villa was on the side of the island with the house reef, perfect, as this was the reason for our visit. We could just put on our snorkelling gear and walk into the sea. The villa itself was huge, with a large comfortable bed, looking out onto the rear garden and small pool area with a day bed. The lounge area had comfy seating and the patio doors opened onto the decking with table and chairs, another day bed, and two sun lounges. It was lovely to be amongst the greenery of the island with the sea lapping just a short distance away. Our room was serviced daily by Nandhu who was amazing and kept it spotless, restocking the mini bar, and replenishing the bottles of water, tea & coffee. He even did an amazing display on our bed during our stay - a lovely surprise. The only downside is that the outside areas of the villas are looking "tired" and in need of some TLC. The decking is loose in places, the cushions on the chairs and sunbeds faded, the tiles are coming off in the small villa pool and the palm roofs are looking a bit bare in parts. However the staff are aware of this and there is currently a system of maintenance going on to upgrade the villas. We had a look at one that was in the process of being upgraded and it did look much improved. Food & Drink: We had booked half board and were aware we would need to pay for drinks so having read other reviews were a little concerned that this might be expensive. However the bottled water provided in our room and in the buffet restaurant Air was actually free, it was only sparkling water that was charged for. We were also given a 70 dollar credit towards food in the other restaurants, Aqua, Tsuki and Stars. We ate in Air, Aqua and Tsuki and found the food in all of them good quality. The buffet selection in Air was excellent and there was food provided from all around the world, even at breakfast. A big thanks must go to Samah who regularly served our drinks at breakfast and kept my husband topped up with fresh coffee. We enjoyed Aqua for the setting as much as the food, with tables over the water giving views of the fish, rays and sharks swimming past. The food and service in Tsuki were excellent and we were guided through the house tasting menu with my husband trying the Saki pairing. The staff were excellent at explaining both the food and drink as we were new to Japanese food. Service: All the staff at CBH were welcoming, friendly, yet professional, and couldn't do enough for you, wanting to make sure everything was as you wanted it to be to ensure an excellent stay. Nittu was amazing, so full of energy, and keen to know if we had everything we needed, arranging our restaurant reservations and booking a snorkelling trip for us. Snorkelling and diving: We snorkelled every day which was amazing. The array of fish, including turtles, rays and reef sharks was incredible. Snorkelling equipment was available from the dive centre, although we did have our own masks. We also went on the arranged snorkelling trip to a reef further away where we could see more turtles and also visit the Nurse Sharks. Our snorkelling guide Nazish was brilliant, guiding us around the reef and diving down to point out fish & creatures of interest. My husband also did a try dive. The diving centre staff were excellent and although he was a little apprehensive, as it was 15 yrs since he'd done one, he thoroughly enjoyed the experience and was so glad to have taken the opportunity. This was our first visit to the Maldives and we thoroughly enjoyed our holiday. If you are into snorkelling this has to be on your list for a visit and we would recommend Coco Bodu Hithi.

Disappointing Stay, Far Below Expectations This is my third hotel stay in Maldives. I had high hopes for this hotel, but it fell far short of the advertised 5-star standards. While there are small gestures the hotel can offer that elevate the experience, this hotel didn’t bother at all. Their favourite word was “NO” The facilities were poorly maintained, with outdated decor (the bed was poorly made) and visible signs of neglect, such as broken fixtures. The buffet was another major letdown. It catered almost exclusively to Indian cuisine with very little variety, making it hard for international guests to enjoy a diverse dining experience. The other hotels we stayed in had elaborate sea food options. For a hotel claiming to offer luxury, this was highly disappointing. We were celebrating our anniversary and 2 years ago we celebrated it at Taj Coral Reef, they made an extra effort to understand my preference on the cake flavours and had such a pretty cake specially created by the chef, this was the first hotel that we stayed in over the last 10 years that didn’t even offer a pastry. Left me pretty surprised. To make matters worse, the check-in process was unnecessarily lengthy and disorganized. After a long journey, the last thing guests want is to stand in line for ages. We waited for over 4 hours. Any other five star would atleast offer some refreshments but they didn’t bother at all. Overall, this hotel desperately needs better upkeep, a more inclusive menu, and improved service to justify its star rating. I wouldn’t recommend it.

We had an experience of a lifetime here at coco bodu hithi. From our arrival until departure we were literally treated like royalty. Our Water villa was stunning, food had a good variety. I would suggest though they work on the supplements for all inclusive guests. As we had to pay for a few things here and there even though we had booked an all inclusive holiday. Which was really surprising as we have had other all inclusive trips to other parts of the world before. It was my birthday on the 24th and everything planned was made to perfection. The staff here at are the heart of this place, oh my gosh, always smiling, willing to help, very humble. Special thanks to our host Syrus, that man knows his job and knows it very well. Hari at the aqua restaurant is a super excellent guy who made our dinners exceptional. Not to forget Mohammed who was responsible for cleaning, this guy literally comes in twice a day to tidy. I could go on and on.. We loved, loved our stay here and will definitely be back

My husband and I enjoyed our honeymoon so much at the Coco Palm Bodu Hithi. It is truly a great deal from Luxury Link. Great hospitality from the hotel for honeymooners, great buffet breakfast. Coco Palm is very suitable for couples who love privacy but a friendly environment, who love luxury without extravagance and extreme mark-up, who love relaxation but also choices of activities.
