Patina Maldives, Fari Islands

We had a wonderful time! The villas and the whole hotel are amazing! Good restaurants and lovely installations. We also enjoyed some of the activities the hotel offers and enjoyed them very much. Special mention to Shamoon, who helped us a lot during all the stay and was very very kind!

I rarely leave hotel reviews but found this site so useful when researching our trip to The Maldives it felt inappropriate not to do so. And more importantly Patina deserves the glowing review it is going to get. I think context is always important in a review so that PLU get what they want from it. So heres a bit about us and what we were looking for : Priorties Design (we stay in a lot of Aman properties so a sense of place is important esp at this price point) Food (because we all have to eat so you might as well do it well) Spa (who doesn't love a holiday massage) Peace Less Important Diving & Snorkelling Against the criteria noted above Patina is an exceptional property. Its Dining certainly is world class...I had high hopes, and I set a high bar with high expectations and they were exceeded at every meal (we ate at Roots, Fari Beach Club, Wok Society & Helios). They say Breakfast is the most important mela of the day and good lord Patina delivers. Ridiculously good (have the Maldivian omelette and Tuna Mas Huni with Roshi for an authentic breakfast experience and you can thank me later) The design is sublime. it isn't your classic thatch roof, teak everywhere Maldivian look and hallelujah to that. Its minimal its contemporary. Its just cool. You cant buy cool, you create it. It is or it isn't and Patina is. What you cant imagine form the pictures or your research is the Service but I am here to tell you it is off the charts good. Off course at this price point is going to be good, you would hope great but its the little things that make ALL the difference. I went fishing one day and caught a Mahi Mah that was prepared for my Supper and I asked our lovely Portico host Ling to please pass my compliments to the chef on his the Mahi Mahi Curry. In the middle of the night the detailed curry recipe was written up and slipped under my door in an envelope. Its always the little things that make the biggest difference. Trying to be balanced the House Reef isnt world class....but that wasn't a priority for us. We still saw Sharks, Rays and Dolphins form our room literally every night but the reef is bleached out and there will be better in the Maldives. The best snorkelling is between suites 208 and 210. If great service (and a shout out to the wonderful Cathy and Ronnie who looked after us) design and food matter to you I will save you some time..stop your research and just book Patina.

After countless visits to the Maldives, Patina is now one of my favorites! Great people, wonderful food, a wide variety of offers and modern, spacious villas. I'll be back, alone or with the family, wonderful! For a feeling for this place, you have to go there..

We had an amazing experience. Not only are the hotel and the Island beautiful, but above all, the staff made our experience unforgettable. The attention to detail and kindness made all the difference. And some staff members deserve to have their names mentioned: Fubu, Rubina, Ahmed and Myson. What an amazing week!

Patina is pure magic. We arrived on the 27/2 into Male for a 5 night stay for my 50th Birthday. We were met promptly at the arrivals hall by a member of staff from 'Patina'. Who escorted us to a Private power yacht for the transfer to this heavenly place. Every moment since has been purely magical. Being met at the 'Patina' dock by the resort manager and our utterly fabulously warm. Efficient 'Essentisalist' Ruslan....was the beginning of a heaven Sent experience. As frequent travellers. We have covered a lot of the globe. Staying at some of the best resorts. For business. And pleasure. With our children. Without them. And independent of each other. This place has 'magic' woven into every detail. The food is beyond wonderful.... Literally incredible. I could wax lyrical for a long time about the food. But come. Eat. Experience this place. The warmth and friendliness of every single person that makes this place work - is exceptional. Beyond all expectation. Ruslan was responsive. Active. And made our stay just Perfectly perfect. A smile. Warmth. And taking care of everything from sunburn to birthday cake. And bringing 'joy'. Every day. Our villa attendant Zaheer -was joyous. Attentive and just purely lovely. As was every single member of the team here. It rained. Every day. And yet it didn't dilute the beauty. Attentiveness. And joy of this wonderful place. I can normally find at least one fault. Here on this last night. I wish I could stay..... A while longer. Patina. Thank you. Ruslan. Zaheer. Thank you.. You've been a dream.... We will be back 💞💜
